Well technically I took these photos today, not four days ago, but I figure we're still close enough to the date that they count as green Solstice trees! 😂
In fact, the idea for doing this didn't come until I went out in our yard yesterday and took some pictures of the five usual spots in our yard that I've been taking for a year or two now. Then last night when I was starting to put this post together, it occurred to me to check back to see if I had the same five shots in December, which is when I found my post Snowy Solstice Trees. Since the shots didn't all match up, I decided to go back out today and try to recreate the shots from six months ago, for a bit of a Solstice comparison post.
Before I get on with the pictures, a quick shout out to my blogging friend Parul to say thank you for hosting this awesome blog hop every couple of weeks. If you want to join in the Tree love blog hop fun, it's really easy - here's the description from her latest post today, called #ThursdayTreeLove – 110:
Thursday Tree love is a photo feature hosted on this blog on every 2nd and 4th Thursday of a month. The next edition will go live on July 8, 2021. If you would like to play along, post a picture of a tree on your blog, tell me where did you spot the tree and link it back to this post.
If you don’t see the pingback, please leave a link to your post in my comments section. Please make sure that your post’s link is showing up on this latest edition. I will link your posts on my blog in the next edition and spread some love. Let’s come together to appreciate the beautiful nature around us.
As for these photos, they were taken in my Durham, NH yard with my Nikon which was affixed to my handy dandy tripod. All were resized, then cleaned up a bit with PicMonkey. Seven of the shots are from the post in December, and seven are from earlier today.
Speaking of earlier today, while I was out in the yard I got another shot of our landlady's memorial tree that I featured a couple weeks ago. This time, I have the garage as the backdrop, so you can get a better sense of the overall growth in the past month or so. I just edited it into the post, but figured I'd include it here too.
Now on with the green (and snowy) Solstice tree photos!
Green Solstice Trees on June 24th, 2021.
1. This shot is one of those five that I've taken multiple times before - it's outside of our bedroom window, looking back into the woods.
1. The same shot back on December 21st, 2020.
2. Another familiar view - this is on the other side of our house, looking in the direction of our landlady's house.
2. The snow covered version of these shag bark hickory trees and granite stones.
3. Another of the five, this is to the side of our driveway - in fact, our daughter's car is just off to the side of that pile of granite stones in the bottom left corner.
3. The snowy version.
4. Hard to tell with all the green (it shows up better in the old shot that follows), but the two trees in the center of this shot always appear to be reaching their branches towards each other, as if to hold hands.
4. A clearer look with the bare branches.
5. Same trees from a different angle.
5. Same snow covered trees.
6. Green decorated tress along the side of the driveway.
6. Snow decorated trees.
7. Majestic green Solstice trees standing watch over the top of the driveway.
7. Majestic snowy Solstice trees standing watch over the top of the driveway.
Whatever season you're in, happy Thursday Tree Love, everyone!

Interesting! #ThursdayTreeLove is that a community or you did it for a contest, 'cause I saw no community with this name. I would love to contribute if this is open for weekly submission! Thank you!
Hey @sunnyag! #ThursdayTreeLove is actually a WordPress blog hop, which I thought I mentioned in my post (but scrolling back, I realize I didn't... oopsie!). My WP blogging friend Parul runs it every two weeks when she's able (for example, she missed the latest one on July 8th, most likely because she and her husband are recovering from Covid), and I write my post on my WP blog, which then auto posts here on Hive via the @exxp plugin. 😊
I've toyed with the idea of creating a matching community here on the blockchain, as a sort of placeholder in case she ever wants to try blockchain blogging. However in the meantime, there's no reason why you couldn't jump in with a Hive post on July 22nd (potentially the next hop) - if you do, please tag me so I don't miss it! 😎
I thought as much though 'cause your tag took me to a blog post "Happiness, food". So you did it for an Indian user Parul and then posted it here. That means crossposting is okay in photography. I would certainly do a post on 22nd (and tag you). I have some beautiful trees in my area which I love to share in my posts. Thanks for your response! reblogged
Hmm..loved the comparisons. Each season has a beauty of its own. We don't see much of a change here in the tropical regions. I love to see these contrasting beautiful images.
Thanks so much, @sofs-su! That's one of my favorite things about Hive - being able to see images from other parts of the world. Much appreciate you stopping by! 😊
Absolutely, it's always wonderful to see the variety of flora and fauna from around the globe.
I love the comparison but I prefer summer to winter .... It's literally told cold, and everywhere becomes snowy
These were beautifully created and edited....
Your landlady's memorial tree, is beautiful by the way, especially with the backdrop you gave to it
Yes, while there are many things I appreciate about winter, I'm with you on preferring summer @edystringz! And thank you so much for the kind words. 😊
I can see there are a lot of Difference between them from December to June this year. The snow
season made it different though. I love those trees and how they look too.
One of these days I plan to a comparison from over the years as well, @princessbusayo - I figure it will be interesting to see the differences then! And thank you for the compliment! 😊
It's amazing seeing how the trees endure during the winter and thrive in summer. Though I agree that they look better in summer, I nevertheless would love to have a feel of winter because I'm am African and have never seen so much cold before. Lol
Yep, I can see the appeal of winter when you've never experienced it before, @hillarypowers...lol! And all joking aside, while freezing cold temperatures are definitely not my favorite, I do enjoy the changing seasons here. Thanks so much for dropping by!
What a great difference!!
The trees are looking scanty , dry and dull during the snowy season but looks vibrant, sharp and greenery during June. That's can be classified under nature.
I must recommend you for taking your time to take the two pictures, both the summer and the winter time.
Well done!
Even though I see the change every year, it never ceases to amaze me as well, @maryjacy! Thank you so very much for your kind words. 😊
