The last couple of weeks have been the only time this winter that it has been steadily cold (that has already ended) and I wanted to do winter photos of Upper Chedoke falls in Hamilton Ont. It is a usual location for me but it never gets old!
My first attempt ended with failure. I got on to the trail that I have taken hundreds of times before but now is very different. Heavy erosion has completely changed the whole terrain. Piles of dirt and uprooted tress completely replacing where trail used to be (even where water used to be). I tried to push through but when dirt began falling from the escarpment ahead of me, I couldn't continue.
Not being one to give up, I waited until it got colder and came from a different angle. A trail that runs half way up the escarpment and leads straight to the waterfall. It just is a huge detour and takes much longer. But when I finally got to the falls, the detour was more than worth it!
This is an awesome place for shooting. Great capture my friend
It sure is and thank you!
You are welcome my friend :)
That is beautiful. I absolutely LOVE frozen waterfalls like this!
