Mono and Moody images during a walk in Oak grove Cemetery
Another week begins and for me that means a Mono post.
Now for me what photos I feel like editing for as post can often be related to how I am feeling at the time, and in todays case as I was looking for photos to edit for this post I was in a bit of a funky mood I guess is a good word for it.
I woke up this morning feeling good and went out to the sunroom with the plan to do my normal 5AM workout on the Oculus Quest VR headset on an App called supernatural.
But I guess the dark dreary and cool morning with rain got into my bones and I just wasn't feeling it this morning, in fact my joints all felt stiff and I really couldn't get into the flow at all so I had a real short one session workout and came upstairs to prepare a post.
I clearly was feeling a bit off this morning and perhaps that has come across in my choice of images and editing style for this post, with shots taken in an old Local Cemetery here the Oak Grove Cemetery, and my edit style may have made them all dark and even moodier than they needed to be.
But here goes onto the photos and do let me know what you think

I think in a better mood or frame of mind i may have brightened up the shadows some and mase these images less dark, but I guess its good to mix it up from time to time

But that said, I am going to finish this post, do a run to the supermarket and then most likely will feel more motivated and give it another go to do a workout, but if now I wont beat myself up, I do workout most days so one days break taking it easy could well be good for me as well

Even though these images may make this cemetery look very dark and perhaps scary, its a lovely laid out and maintained cemetery.

this last image doesn't look as moody as the earlier ones, perhaps just editing a few images improved my mood :)

PS @dreemsteem not sure if I will get back on and do more workouts later, but a slow start to this week on Supernatural, maybe a good week for you to show me how its done ;)

wow that first photo is pretty scary. right out of horror pic. the mono plus dark shadows are spooky. Save that one back for Halloween. The tree behind the above ground crypt is also spooky. It does look like a beautiful place with the lovely mature trees in the last two shots. Hopefully the routine of posting and running errands will get you going. Have a great rest of your day 🙂
Thanks, Yes clearly I was in a mood for dark images, but the day has picked up done some workouts and feeling better about myself and my mood is elevated
I agree these shots look like stills from an old Universal Horror movie ,very nice :).

It's been sunny here but with a chilly wind which gets right into your bones.
Everything aches. I felt like a wreck yesterday.
Cemetery photos are almost always moody.
I think it might be because cemeteries make us reflect on our brief time here on earth.
I've got two funerals this week just by coincidence. 🤦♂️👍
Similar here lots of sun, my solar panels are generating a lot but a lot of wind and in the early morning very chilly it sure does get in our bones
I think your right about cemeteries
Yes I guess thats a sign of age, we seem to have more funerals to attend, or in my case with most family and friends spread around the world funerals I hear of
This cold snap came out of nowhere sort of. It was snowing in North Conway yesterday! Damn winter won’t let it’s grip go away sometimes haha.
Some nice edits, it did appear that the moodiness was elevated a little bit by the end.
Yeah Winter is sure holding on, need close to freezing last few mornings but luckily and I hope I am not tempting fate, no snow here
and yes I think my mood was changing as I was editing them
I LOVE walking in cemeteries and burial grounds and grave yards. I've always had happy memories with it, tho that might sound odd, but we'd often as a family, go and spruce of graves, add flowers , visit 'relatives' out of respect. My birthday is on all souls day and often I'd go and tidy up and leave flowers.
Having them in b/w or mono is perfect for this locale @tattoodjay
Thanks, I know some do not like cemeteries, have a couple of friends who cant believe we bough a house with a cemetery out back, but they have never bothered me, infact I to enjoy walking through them, reading the headstones and wondering about the history of the families buried here

The subject is amazing. For some reason, the fact that these photos are black and white impresses me more.
Thanks I appreciate your visit and feedback
I will always maintain that cemetery pictures are best served in monochrome. It just seems fitting.
Thanks I feel the same I occasionally do some cemetery shots in color but mostly go fir mono
I apologize for how your day felt but I still love the way the photos came out. It made me pause and think of an afterlife. What happens when we all die? I am wondering if I'll get an answer though.
I hope you feel better next time though so you could give us brighter images. And get motivated to do your workout too. Well done on this one @tattoodjay.
I guess we will never truly now about the afterlife it’s all a matter of personal perspective and beliefs what we choose to believe or hope for
Your photos really do reflect a mood, lol. Cemetery photos are always so interesting, especially with the bare trees. Very cool Jay.
Thanks yeah I think my mood clearly showed out when exiting these
Have a great day
I often find cemeteries very peaceful places, especially those that are old and engulfed by vines. There is always a lingering melancholic remembrance about them
I to find visiting a cemetery very peaceful
You really captured the peace and sadness of a graveyard. Especially the first picture.
Thanks kindly
Have a great day
