Friday Hazelwood Park back in Fall

Hazelwood Park back in Fall

Good Morning today I will share a few shos I took on a walk one afernoon in Hazelwood Park here in New Bedford, it is a 23 Acre park, one edge running along the view over West beach.
It doesnt seem to get as many visitors as the other parks here I oftenam the only one walking there even when visiting during the dayon a nice day, the only people I see often are some parked in cars there and I get a somewhat shady feeling about them, not sure why, but one day one of them yelled at me with colorful language to get out of "their" Park, I walked away from the where they were in but still continued to enjoy my walk there

In fall it is especially beauiful with the nice warm colors

It contains three historic buildings, this one
TheCongdon-Lucas House, once a homestead of a rural estate, has been a part of Hazelwood Park since it was acquired by the City of New Bedford in 1901. The iconic Gothic Revival-style structure was built in 1840 It looks in good shape but is always closed off so I dont think at this stage it is used for anything

the other buildings are the Coffin-Howland House, which may contain portions of Congdon's carriage house, is fire-damaged and fenced off, and the Howland House, built in 1890, is located near Brock Avenue, and is used by an Aged Living center

Beautiful shots, appreciate you sharing with us.

Great landscape

Interesting park and nice photos. The story behind modern parks is always interesting. Many were originally country estates that have been surrounded by urban growth over the years.

What a beautiful place and your photographs are beautiful @tattoodjay

What a pretty area... Have you ever tried lawn bowling? I never have, when I lived back east I was working so much I never tried out any of those east coast activities!

I saw it a lot back when I was growing up in NZ but I have never tried it at that time I thought it was an older persons game, well I guess I am in that age group now but still havent tried it

The last photo is very picturesque!
