A Rubbish Post

A Rubbish Post

Now this post is about Rubbish and may be a rubbish post, but there is two reasons why I took these photos.

Reason number one is our granddaughter Zoey and I like to tease each other all in good fun and when she sees my photos she always jokes they are rubbish and as such I should take some photos of rubbish so now I have :)

the second reason I will get to shortly but lets start with some rubbish, or things left on a beach starting with this hairbrush I saw on Silvershell beach.

Now this isn't really trash, probably some one dropped it without realizing it, most likely the same with my next photo of a sock laying on the same beach

Now this next one is a bit weird a pair of boxers laying on the road/ walking path alongside the Hurricane barrier wall, now I can understand someone dropping a hair brush and forgetting a sock when leaving the beach but a pair of underwear in this spot quite bizarre

Now I will get onto my second reason for this post and perhaps a little rant, one thing that really frustrates me is when people leave trash on the beach or trails, ever since I can remember and i guess it was taught to me by my parents, whenever we went to a beach we made sure when we left we took everything with us including any rubbish and took it home to dispose of it properly.

and that stayed with me, when visiting beaches or hiking trails, anything I took in I made sure came out with me, even on long multi day hikes in the woods, I would carry food in packages and tins, and make sure to load them back into my backpack and carry them out with me.

So that is probably why it frustrates me when I see Rubbish left laying around especially when most of the beaches here have plenty of trash bins near the car park, so its not exactly hard to clean up after visiting the beach.
I always carry a plastic bag with me in my camera bag, and when I see trash on the beach I generally clean it up and drop it off in a bin, there was more on the beach but i had picked up a fair bit of it before thinking to take some photos

Next up a plastic bag floating in the water, so dangerous for birds and sea life.

A Dunkin Cup, them, cans and bottles I often see on the beach's, why worry about the beauty of the beach for others when done just ditch it on the beach seems to be the attitude of many and that's an attitude I will admit does annoy me

This one was looking down from the harbor walk, probably off a boat

and also from the harbor walk, and intrigues me how it got there

And that’s all folks

Sort:

I have even seen rubbish right around the almost empty bin. This morning I have also seen quite some things on my way around a little lake and one day I will also take photos of the things people leave behind.
These are all people who go into nature because they love it, so I really can't understand such a behaviour.

I'm doing it like you: what goes in with me will also go out with me - leave no trace.

You can tell your grand daughter that even your photos of rubbish are not rubbish 😊😉

A very important and annoying topic!
Is this scattered stuff or quite bad at that beach?

I was brought up the same as you and hate it when I lose things, so I'd probably go back to get that sock or the hair brush.. 😄
But things are so cheap these days to replace and people get used to having things and areas cleaned up after them, so this is just going to get worse.
They're all little stars in their own right and don't seem to have to take any responsibility..
I just feel really sorry for those that suffer the most because of it, the animals, as you so rightly say in your post..

Thanks for sharing your rubbish! 😀

Thanks for the visit, this was scattered stuff, and not to much on either beach, easy for me to clean up, but it still irks me that people leave things especially rubbish
I to would go back if I forgot something, but I think and I say often it seems todays society is a throw away society so for many not worth going back it can easily be replaced

Sad, but very true..
Start with the young to change ways.. 😉😀

Not a pleasant feeling to see rubbish, especially things made of plastics in the beach. I have read an article about I shampoo sachet made in 1980-ies just recently appear in one of our beach.

Not pleasant at all, and yes plastic can be the worse it does not decompose at all

I don't get it... With bins right there and free, why trash the place?

Great job @tattoodjay for picking up the litter that you find. It drives me nuts when I see litter in Richmond Park. I have observed what appear to be entire picknicks just left on the grass. In a wildlife park!

Ohh yes I have seen the same, sometimes its just to much left behind to clean it all up, I walk away in frustration, but when its not to much and I can clean it up I do :)

Well done on such a beautiful mind and photo shot! This is beyond inspiring ❤️ surprisingly beautiful.

Have a great day

People are thoughtless. I walk the country roads around here. Most of the traffic is local i.e. people that LIVE here. Drive the same roads every day. And throw out garbage. Beer cans, McDonalds bags, whatever. Why would you throw out garbage in your own neighborhood, almost your own backyard. Its maddening 🤦‍♂️ I'll give you a pass on this rubbish post and still upvote you haha

Ohh yes sadly your spot on people are thoughtless, it really is a pet peeve of mine

Oh yeah. Garbage on the riverbank or even in the river is a big problem. At a time when there were no plastic bags and bottles, such a problem did not exist. Yes, it was possible to meet cans, but they can rust and disappear over time, and plastic does not disappear for a long time.

I try to take all the garbage with me from the forest and from the river back home.

I think the garbage problem is a worldwide problem. People don't think about the future of nature, they live for their own pleasure today.

So true I think it’s an issue all around the world
Slowly many countries are trying to reduce plastics but it’s still a big problem

Hopefully this will slowly change

It's amazing how people can't seem to use a trash can. What is even worse is when the trash is only a few feet away from the bin!

Ohh yes I see that far to often

Great rubbish post. Most people are plain indiscipline with their rubbish especially at the beach, there was a UN report out, saying that by 2050 there will be more plastic in the waters than fish if we don't change our behaviour. Remember some plastics take more than hundred years to break down and people are freely tossing them in and around the water. Recycling needs to be done religiously to avoid a bad outcome for future generations. Thank you for sharing and keep enjoying your weekend :}

Thanks and Yes I read the report you mention, and a pity is those that need to read reports like that don't and have blinker son refusing to see the problem

But we all need to do our part and hopefully others will foloow
Have a great day

awesome colours in the sepia shot:

and the last pic was my fave in this set. a seashore beach indeed is the best place to search for surprising occasional stuff. except of #urbex ofc.
