ANCIENT MITHRIDATES KING MOUNTAIN

This place is the most famous in my city. All tourists who come to visit Kerch, go there by all means.
This mountain is about 400m above the sea, but its main feauture isn't height, but its historical meaning. It's the ancient king Mithridates place.

Mithridates or Mithradates VI Eupator (Greek: Μιθριδάτης; 135–63 BC) was the ruler of the Kingdom of Pontus in northern Anatolia from 120 to 63 BC, and one of the Roman Republic's most formidable and determined opponents.

This place is full of archeological excavations and ancient treasures. Walking there, we can feel all the depth of anceint times.

To reach the mountain people need to overcome 450 stairs, and not all can do it, so many taxi are ready to help you in this task.

Now it's a monument to war heroes of the WWII, and the monument is decorated with the Red Star in honour of them.

We like to walk there in the evening to see the night Kerch and at daytime as well because we can enjoy good views and special harmony.

Griffins are a symbol of Kerch, and they protect this place as well.
