A beautiful River Valley near my town Nahan known as Markanda Valley. It is named after an Saint Markandeya Rishi. The Place has Beautiful Dense Forest Great for a day trip to look deep into the nature.
Surroundings are of Sal tree's which are highest in numbers here. The district has the most percentage of forest as it covers 49 percent of land in Sirmaur.

The beautiful River Valley is just 6km from nahan. The markanda river originates from the Baraban and flow towards haryana. Markanda Valley is one of the flood prone areas. As in Monsoon the river brings flood. But the beauty of the forest is just so nurturing with amazing sites in the Forest for pictures and to connect with the Wild.

We go for a regular visit to the place in our old school legend of a car we have Maruti 800. The pictures are taken this summer.
