April 23rd 2021 was one of the best chase days of my career I finally nailed my dream shot. I stood 200 yards away from this tornado has I watched move across an open field. It truly was a day that I will never forget. I had been after a close up shot of a dusty tornado for 5 years and finally got the shot.
This was a day that was not supposed to be a big day the following Tuesday was supposed to be the day. When the storms first went up they didn't look great but after a little while this storm went nuts and went on to produce several tornadoes and even produced twins, which is pretty rare. I had put my two weeks in at my job so I could chase all Spring this day happed at the end of my first week. I left work sick knowing that I was risking losing my job early. I went back the next Monday and was let go early, but for me it was worth it.
This is a chase day that I will never forget. After one of the roughest years of my life this day was healing for my soul. I will always say that storms and the open road are my therapy.
lol. Calling in sick to chase tornados. That's winning at life right there.
