There are numerous reason for people to be afraid of Cactus plant. I remember in my childhood days, my Dad always remain cautious whenever, I get close to any wild cactus plant. The actual reason is nobody wanted to get stung with the pricky plant. But the nature have made them with the quality to protect themselves of their own and also keep people on their toes. Today, I came across, one such wild cacti plant next to my village home. And I made most of the time in clicking it.
Cacti have hundreds of tiny spines that can stick into us. But this one has quite a bigger spines. It was like a needle that can easily been detect from far away. Waving to be cautious and not get too near. A negative experience with a cactus, such as being stung, can lead to a phobia of plants.
Being close to my home, it is blossoming nicely. What used to be a little stem, gas now transformed into a bigger plant. It was close to.my height, so approximately 7 feet. Few years it was handed at the door, to waive off negative energies. Once it was thrown out, it is now more bigger. What more attracted me are its buds. Which grown from the same leaves.
Tye pat hu new portion is growing from within the old leaves. While the old leaves have faded in colour, this one appears quite sharp and reflect the true natural shades. It was covered with so many budding spines from various part. It us actually not a leaf, it is the budding portion for prickly spines.
I took help of Google to discover more of this cactus species. 🌵 This is known as opuntia cactus. Thsse species of cactus have flat, paddle-shaped stem segments, that grow on top of each other. Opuntia cacti are low-maintenance plants that can thrive in arid and semi-arid climates. Similar like the one in my area.
I took our my mobile to capture as many shots as possible. May be it was a wish of childhood to get friendlier with the cacti plant. Now getting an oppurtunity so close , it is time to picture them to add into our wild nature collection. Herr are some of the picture , That I manage to take, in a short duration of time.
The Opuntia cactus, also known as the prickly pear cactus. Only because of the long spines that each of pads flashes from a distant. Cacti are designed to survive, even when the going gets tough and hence symbolises, courage and power in the face of adversity.
Peace!!

I do not like going close to cactus, they are beautiful plants, but when it comes to that their spines on their body, I don't find it interesting, you have some good photos of the opuntia cactus you found, continue to have a good time 🥰🙏
Photos are good way to remeber some stories to it. What I hesitated to go near, now I am clicking them as closer as possible.
I like it that you are not going so close to avoid it stung, continue to have a good time @steemflow 🥰🙏
My grandma used to have a cactus or two in her house. I always used to accidentally stick myself with it. Many years later I had cactus to eat at a Mexican restaurant and I finally got my revenge!
Wowow 🫡....u know how to make the best of a revenge. I heard these cactus grow some flower in red shades which are good for health. I think the Chinese co sume them a lot, as I saw once on youtube.
That wouldn't surprise me at all!

Seeing this cactus plant reminds me of my childhood, when I often mischievously matched people and wrote their names on the cactus leaves. If I remember now it's really ridiculous🤭
