One morning I saw some water collected on these greens, as the sun came up for the day it reflected off the water droplets and gave them a shimmering appearance. Its cool to see how plants can take water drops and combine them together, something to do with how the leaves are made allows the water to pool. Small droplets form and they merge into larger ones until there are only a couple on the entire leaf.

It was chilly, but not cold enough to affect the leaves of the plant. But with the dew in the air the leaves indeed had some water form on them. This picture I lined up the leaf with the height of my camera giving us a picture looking directly on the same level as the droplets.
Some leaves only had a few drops while others had a bunch. Maybe the shape of the leaf will affect how the water forms.
By the afternoon the sun started to cook off the moisture and left the leaves bare again. Or maybe the leaves absorbed some of the water.. Not really sure.
The droplets in the leaf above all went to the center of the greens, probably due to the concave shape of the leaf.
The next leaf was covered in the water drops, completely spotted with droplets of moisture.
Seems before the sun can get to them they will mostly stay intact, but once the sun comes out the water pools together or it evaporates over time. We need to harvest some of this Kale, its really growing nicely now the caterpillars are killed off due to the cold. But for now I will enjoy them for their aesthetic.
I think every leave have a thin cellulose water proof that’s why it can’t absorb water but holds it for evaporation or runoff’s.
Ah true, plants are pretty amazing.
Neat... waterproof!
hehe yeah its interesting they can do that.
They are the wonderful gifts of nature. For the human being inexplicable, but with a beauty that permeates our gaze.
for sure, nature is the bestest.
Interesting post my dear and welcome to the hive community !
hah thanks bro
It seems that soon your vegetables will be harvesting again and from the looks of their leaves they are quite fertile, I really enjoyed the shots of the sequence of pictures number 5,2 , 1 :)
Thanks alot, yeah hopefully we can harvest some soon.
Glad you liked them.
haha keep it up mate and be honest, farming is one of the most fun activities and greetings one hobby.
