📷 Man in a Landscape

in Photography Lovers3 years ago

There are not a lot of people in my photos. It so happened that I almost do not do individual photo sessions now, although I used to do this a little. Unless I take pictures of friends, and that happens very rarely :) And there are usually not many landscape photographs where there are people, and even more so there are few of those where these people really are in place and decorate the picture. Such as this photo, I found it among the pictures taken in the Valley of the Moon, Atacama, Chile. The silhouette of a small man on a big rock is in place here and gives the image more meaning and completeness, gives a sense of scale in nature, doesn't it?

And I myself usually like such shots when I see them from other landscape photographers, professionals in their field, who take it seriously and shoot really stunning views. Probably, I should also do this more often, look for such scenes and maybe even take staged shots, including placing a person in a landscape. Let's see if I succeed :)

By the way, I'm not sure how many more photos from the Valley of the Moon I have, but they are definitely not over yet :) We came to different viewpoints and went inside the valley several times. This was partly due to the fact that we stayed in San Pedro de Atacama 2 days longer than planned. When we were about to cross the border with Argentina, at the border checkpoint it turned out that something was missing in the documents for the rented car, if I remember correctly, it was an unsigned mark in the lease that we can leave on it outside the territory of Chile, as a result of which we, having already received stamps in our passports, nevertheless returned back.

This trouble took us about an hour of time at the border and after that we had to return to the town in the evening, and we received the amended contract only a day later. And it's good that the car was rented in one of the popular network rental offices, because returning to Santiago (if we suddenly took in any local local office), would be even more sad for us. So be careful when renting a car, check these nuances :)

So. Due to the fact that we had to stay a little more in Atacama, I managed to take pictures of the Valley of the Moon several times at different times of the day and get a lot of nice shots, which is actually a rarity for traveling in the format of a group tour (even an author's one and with a small group in several people), when there is a rich interesting program, but usually there is not much time in each separate interesting place.

Valley of the Moon, in addition to the absolute fact that it is beautiful, is also very convenient for shooting at sunrise, since you do not need to travel far at night. That is, during the daytime and by sunset, it is quite possible to go further, explore other, more distant sights, because there are many places to see in Atacama, but it is very convenient to shoot dawn closer to the place of overnight stay.

So some landscapes from the Valley of the Moon will definitely appear over time :)

It's better to watch the photo in high resolution.

The view is beautiful, hope to visit this place if fate decides....

The place is really wonderful, I hope you will succeed.

Incredibly beautiful photos! I enjoyed them very much, you have a great talent. I want to be like you when I grow up LOL (I'm 56)!

Thank you! The main thing is practice, and it's never too late to learn :)

Agreed that first one with the person is wonderful and you should do more. Love the others and look forward to more of the Valley of the Moon.

So I'm thinking of trying to shoot like this more often. Glad you liked it :)

Oh such a beautiful view, eventhough it looks quite "dead"

Yes, this is a very specific place, a desert and unearthly landscape. This is what attracts :)
