I had a beautiful short hike today above Lake Tahoe with my camera in hand. After a real estate photoshoot, I decided to take a little drive up toward Martis Peak and then walked down a trail out to this view spot. The Arrowleaf Balsamroot wildflowers were blooming quite nicely, so of course I had to set up the tripod and camera, and "work" a bit more.
These were both shot with a Canon 5DS R and a 24-105mm lens. Both shot at ISO 200, a lens aperture of f/11, and the shutter speed was 1/320 of a second in order to freeze the flowers in the breeze. They are also both available as large fine art prints, just click the image title and it will bring you to the image on my website.
Yes, it's been a while since I've shot any new photos and posted here on Hive. My health and life has kept things interesting lately. But I am feeling much better and I was incredibly happy to get out for a little bit with the camera. This location would make for a great sunrise or sunset scene, I hope to be back...
Thanks for looking and I hope you are all having a great day!

Nice shots. Cool to see the snow on the mountains in the distance. I usually like the wider shots but I like the tight shot this time. Highlights the flowers.
Thank you! The flowers were looking great, so yeah, they were the main subject this time. Hope to be back soon for some sunrise or sunset photos there but no clouds in the forecast and the flowers don't last long...
I really noticed your absence and it is impossible not to notice that we were missing a photographer as talented as you.
I am glad to read that you are in better health and that you are back, I look forward to seeing your next photos!
Sorry @malos10. Hive is my favorite, and I haven't been posting on other social medias either. Now that I am allowed to drive again, I hope to be shooting and posting more. Have a great day!
Hi @scottshots, so incredibly happy to get lost in these beauties. So immersive, it felt like I was right there at Lake Tahoe. Never had the privilege of visiting but hopefully one day soon. Also, grateful you're feeling much better and I know that nature can be so rejuvenating also, as you take the time to enjoy the small moments.
Thank you! I am happy to be feeling better. And I hope you make it to the lake soon. It's definitely worth seeing in person.
You posted today after a whole month we keep waiting for your post because you show us so many amazing views in your pictures it's so nice to see you still show us so many beautiful things. Thanks for sharing.

(no space) to get help on Hive. InfoThank you @ekavieka! Now that my medications have been reduced, I am feeling much better and I should be back to posting and enjoying Hive again. Have a great day!
The pictures are so beautiful, especially the second one. I was ever wondering why I didn’t see your posts anymore when I passed by Truckee to Reno in the July 4 weekend. Hope everything is fine.
Thank you @iris085! Things are much better now that I have had my medications reduced. I was planning on shooting the fireworks on the 4th, but another health scare changed my plans... But you should see more fresh photos here soon. Have a great day!
Good to hear you feel better. Take care!
