Photography Of My Favorite Lake Tahoe Shoreline

I got out for a little hike up above Lake Tahoe a couple of days ago. My ankle is finally feeling healed so I can finally start hitting the trails for long hikes with my camera again. After visiting and shooting Monkey Rock, I continued on to find the view of Tahoe's East shore. I love this vantage point area. The wavy shoreline looks incredible from up above. In my opinion, the west shore of Tahoe also has the best beaches, with the best looking big smooth boulders. The water can have stunning turquoise and aqua colors when the sun hits it just right. A photographer's paradise.

The sunset colors were just okay, I didn't end up with any "keepers". But I really liked these shots I got just before the sun actually set. The low angle of the light created a lot of detail to the shapes of the mountains and shoreline.

Both of these were shot with the Canon 5DS R and a 24-105mm lens. Yes, I've been shooting with that combo a lot lately. Now that my ankle is feeling better, I hope to start carrying more lenses and weight when I go on long hikes... The camera's ISO was 400, the lens aperture was f/11, and the shutter speed was a fast 1/200 of a second so I could shoot handheld. No tripod or lens filters were used.

Thank you for looking, and I hope that all of you who celebrate it are having a great Christmas Holiday!!!

Lovely views of the lake. Almost makes me homesick for California. My kids would occasionally play hockey in the South Tahoe rink and I always tried to find time to drive the loop around the lake.

Oh, nice!!! I haven't skated in a few years, we have a couple rinks over here on the north shore...
Yes, I understand the "almost" part of being homesick. Things have changed a lot here over the last few years. It can be a bit heartbreaking but I still find there is a lot to love about Tahoe (not so much when it comes to the rest of California, lol).

I love this picture
This type of environment will be good for relaxation

Very relaxing there, indeed! Glad you love that one, it was fun to capture!

When the weather is like this after snowfall, the sun comes out, the view is also very beautiful and it gives people a lot of peace.

We need some snowfall around here... It's been incredibly dry lately. Well, we did get some rain recently but we need the cold stuff!!!

Thats good.

The sunset is really looking beautiful
The pictures are so nice

When we see the beautiful coastline and the many trees that surround the lake, it is certainly quite beautiful.Natural views always entertain us with their beauty and we should also preserve this natural environment. The image display is quite extraordinary and quite good that I have displayed
