Some #street #portrait photography from my today's exhausting and extensive photo-walks across the historical center of St.Petersburg. Initially I had an intention to visit the annual Book Fair, but the program turned out to be much more intense. Soon I will put out more posts from this set.
A lady from the gallant epoch.
This is a doorman / meeting person at the Chocolate museum. (At first I thought it was a wax figure, but when I started to photograph it, it moved! - I was in deep shock ))))
Before you puzzle yourself with the question "who is this?", I will say right away - this is not a human person at all! this is not who, but "what" - a diving suit date back from the 19th century. I met 'him' just today. What was 'he' doing at the book fair?! I suppose it worked like an ad, simply attracted the attention of those passing by ... that spot around the publishing house stand was crowded all the time. It works!!!

Что он делал на книжной выставке?! предполагаю, что просто привлекал внимание проходящих... возле стенда издательства все время было тесно. Это работает!!
Some people like to play the reconstruction of history - clothes, appearance, details of life. A few photos below were taken at the retro car parade today. A Russian girl is dressed in the uniform of a soldier of the Russian army, model 1941.
Некоторые люди любят играть в реконструкцию истории - одежды, внешнего вида, деталей быта. Несколько фото ниже сняты сегодня на ретро-параде автомобилей. Русская девочка одета в форму солдата российской армии образца 1941 года.
Another historical reenactor. An old man in the uniform of a Soviet police holds road signs from the Road Rules (pre-war, circa 1930-es) and shows how much simpler everything was arranged then: all in all, the guide contains about 25-30 signs. Compare with today's "species diversity"...
Еще один исторический реконструктор. Старый человек в форме офицера советской милиции держит дорожные знаки из Правил дорожного движения (довоенные, образца 1930 года) и показывает, насколько проще всё было устроено тогда: всего 25-30 знаков. Сравните с сегодняшним "разнообразием видов"...
Spiritual literature book seller - looks purely like Alesha Karamazoff.

Firefighter? not really... in fact, I still don't know who he is or what he does! but I follow the process, in the end it should become clearer what they are doing.
Пожарник? не совсем... на самом деле, я не знаю кто это и чем он занимается! но слежу за процессом, в конце должно стать понятнее, что они делают.
After reading books and riding a pony, it always come a great appetite!
It is very likely that the pony too - worked all day, and now wants some petting, or maybe a juicy carrot or piece of sugar.
Весьма вероятно, что и пони тоже - трудилось весь день, и теперь хочет немного ласки, сахарка или колбаски.
That's all for today! I have to give a rest to my tired feet, eyes and mind overloaded with too much visuals - today's walk was very long, I took about 550 shots (including the trash bin here too) - I haven't managed even to sort them yet. I hope you enjoyed today's walk with me through the streets of St. Petersburg. Next time!

Cool shots. That guy was sand blasting. Pressure is shooting out sand and everything is cleaner and smoother after it.
True. It is a reconstruction of the statues, I guess they doing some preparations, polishing the basis etc. I just was not sure about the exact technology (an air pressure, or small sand as you saying...). TNKS for a visit, glad you enjoyed the visuals -

thats true! it could not be the other way, as for 200+ years it happened to be the capitol of a big empire and the residence of Russian emperors... the good thing also is, unlike many cities today, it have kept its compact 'historical center' intact (well, more or less...) so it is a tourist city, a good place to come for sightseeeing,,. smth like that. cheers! and a Hive !PIZZA

you are absolutely right! with the horse, I was lucky to be in right time and place, that monet lasted for 4-5 seconds, and I was able to capture it only because I was aiming at it already with my camera. that is a pure luck of #reportage and #streetphoto
