We were on the way to an auto body repair shop, and I will show you the road.

A long line of pedestrians (cattle) started to cross the road on a red traffic light. Fortunately, the lights were green for us, and I passed the leader of the line to avoid stopping and waiting for a long line of cattle to cross.
The left rear door of our car received a bang as you can see below, and it took place as a car pulled into park next to our car. The passenger in the car opened their door and the wind ripped it out of her hand, to smash the door into the side of our car. How do I know that it was a "her"? Well, we were not in our car at the time, but when we returned and saw the dent in our door, we went to the center's security office as they have cameras all over the place.
Now here is the funny or maybe not so funny thing, as on the camera screen we could see how the car was pulling in next to our car and how the lady opened the door to smash it into our car. The funny part is, that the passenger of the car then quickly closed her door, and the driver of the car pulled out and parked her car a short distance away. The security operator of the camera instructed us to go and lay a charge at the police station, but we didn't bother, as the lady did not do it intentionally.
Here you can see the dent, and luckily there was no tear or hole in the door, as then we would have had to buy a new door.
Okay, now let's get back to the road to view some landscapes.
It is always a pleasure to take a drive out as we love the views.
And after dropping the car off at the auto shop, a driver took us back home.
That guy on the bike had his kite in the backpack, and his board across his chest, on his way to the sea.
Two days later, we got the car back and it looked like new again. As you can see, they did a wonderful job on the door.
The only thing that troubled us about this accident story, was that the owner of the other car did not leave us a note about the accident, instead she parked in another bay not even far from our car. We saw them getting out of their car, and they walked around to look at their door. Not a very nice thing to do, but none of us can say that we have never made a mistake. And so, if we were perfect, then we could have kicked up a great ruckus, but that is not our way of doing things.
No need to wish the lady any bad luck, or hating them, simply because she will not have to cry when somebody else smashes their car door into her car, as she will be reminded of what she had done. That's why we rather forgave her and had the car fixed. No need for grudges, as grudges are a slow poison to one's mental system, and its cousin called hatred is an even worse poison for the self.
Such is life.
I hope you enjoyed the pictures and the story.

These things happen. I'm always careful opening car doors when it is windy. It is amazing what the body shops can do for repairs. I would tend to avoid having a car with a fancy paint finish as that can be harder to match. These days cars tend to have lots of colour-matched plastic parts like mirrors and bumpers/fenders. Those used to be black plastic so you could just find a cheap replacement. I'm sure this is part of why insurance prices keep going up.
That guy on the bike could be in trouble if the wind caught his board. I've ridden a motorbike when it's windy and you can get blown around anyway
Take care out there.
I agree, and we have just accepted it. We have dangerous wind gusts here. The owner of the body shop is a friend of mine, and we have the VW manufacturers paint code for the car. So, it makes it easy to get the correct paint for the car. I hear you about the colour-matched trimmings, and the plastic parts, and we also have none of it on our car. Cheap replacements do not appear anymore, and it is all a money-making business. Everyone scores including the insurance companies.
I didn't even think about the wind risk when we saw him, and you are right, as if a wind gust gets him then he will be in real trouble. Those gusts flip big trucks over on the highways, and it could blow the biker into oncoming traffic lanes. Hopefully he will be okay.
Thank you and you do the same out there.
Uh oh! That's intense! 😬 hope everything is fine.
Moving their car wasn't a nice response after the 'accidental' accident. I would stick a photo of your car door damage on their car door if they're regular shoppers! No need to say anything 😉
Good to see you online madam, and after all that you have been through, I will advise that you take things very easy. This is Dr. Zac speaking 😊 Just glad that you are getting better.
The car had a GP number plate, and we felt sorry for them, as they had a rude introduction to our strong winds here. There is nothing like that from where they come from.
Be well and all our !LUV to you.
Thank you Dr. Zac, and I'll listen to your advice. My body took quite a beating but I'm still getting pampered here, two or three more sleeps only according to the doctor.
I am just worried that once you are healed, then you will go traipsing around all over the countryside again 😜
Glad that the doctor is taking care of you milady, and being pampered is exactly what you need now.
All our !LUV to you.

Okay. But that was rude. Lucky to that woman the owner of the car is considerate. I hope she learned from that incident and not gonna run away whenever she do it again. She could've asked for apology in you but yeah, some people really are avoidant. About the cattles, where did they come from? Haha so unusual and amazing to find them on the road like pedestrians. Im shocked when I saw the photo. This day really had a lot of happenings and incidents, the car bang, the cattles, the views, and the guy with a kite on his back. The view is amazing and wonderful to witness. Beautiful things really do come its way to us whenever we are frustrated or in bad weather. A great timing to show.
Yeah, but it was the wind, and she never intentionally rammed our car's door, as the wind ripped the door out of her hand. If she did it with intent, then it would be another matter, and I would not be so forgiving. I just hope that she learned from her mistake, but it's over now, and all is well again. They take the cattle to a wide-open grassland below the mountain to feed, and in the midday, the cattle get guided back to their farm. It was just one of those days where everything fell into place, and my camera enjoyed the views :)

That kind of view was like a province here. But for sure you got your self care out there.
Oh yes, nature views are my favorites, and I do indeed get my self care out there :)
