The sun topped a tree and other views.

Late afternoon and no rain for a change, as the clouds were empty.

We know that rain is on its way again, so we escape into nature at every dry opportunity.

Tons of water came down consistently during our winter raining period, and it's not over yet. Last week, some dam walls collapsed to add to the misery, as cars and houses below the dam walls were all destroyed. I remember reading a forecast last year, that stated that we would have a warm and dry winter and that we would be in danger, again, of droughts. But now, all of our dams are more than 100% full and the weather is crazy. We still have a way to go before spring arrives, and things will then settle down. But in the meantime, come and look at some lovely views today.

Have a look in the two photos below, how that blue window opened to let the sun in.

And, this is the view of the solitary Helderberg mountain at the north-east.

The sun was hidden in the cloud above the mountain and see if you can spot it.

Things started to darken, and it was time to go.

I think I told you before, that I don't like to drive in the rain as we have some kamikaze drivers here. So, we make sure that we dodge the rain if possible. I love to see how the wind plays with the clouds above the mountains, and it often delivers beautiful views. Although we have only lived in the area for 6 years, we get the most out of it and have seen all that it has to offer. There are people who have lived here for decades and are not aware of much happening in nature all around them. Many times, people come to ask what I am taking photos of, and when I show them, they get ecstatic. But thankfully there are also groups of nature lovers here, and they know all the spots, that are good for photography, inside out. Life is a rush lately, and everything needs to be done faster and easier in order to save time. But then we find that no time was saved, as things only continue to get more hectic.
Such is life.

I hope you have enjoyed the pictures and the story.

Beautiful cloud 😍.
Thanks for sharing 😊

Lovely pictures...
The sun topping the tree us really a lovely lucky shot ✨

Thank you, and I had to wait for the sun to reach that spot on the treetop !LOLZ

Funny, I just happened to get a similar shot today...

Although my equipment is far more inferior...
The glare of the afternoon sun made everything else look a bit monochrome...

A nice shot, and if I may offer some advice, get a sun filter for your lens, as the direct sunlight can damage the color sensors of your camera. I learned this lesson when all of my photos went blank, and it was very expensive to have my camera repaired. So, now use a clip-on sun filter whenever I take photos of the bright sun.

I use my phone to take photos but I do plan on eventually getting a camera...
I'll keep this lesson at heart...

Ah, okay, and I am happy that you will remember the advice.

We are invited to appreciate the beauty of nature despite the unpredictable weather, emphasizing the importance of taking time out of our busy schedules to enjoy simple moments. Behind the hustle and bustle, nature always holds a charm waiting to be enjoyed. Thank you for sharing.

Nature welcomes us with open arms, and every moment spent in it restores one's sanity. It was the way that life should have been, but mankind invented a different way of life that brought on the crazy hustle and bustle. Such is life!

So much in nature takes my breath away! Folks simply no longer look around themselves. How much they miss! Thank you for helping others to see the glory all around us.

I agree with you, as nature has many stunning sights. The majority of folks are captured by their mobile phones, and they do indeed miss a lot of real life. The glory is my passion, and I am happy to share it.
