The life of Red-Winged Starlings.

We have big flocks of the starlings that are invading the towns.

I will show you a short snippet that occurred outside our chemist today.

Starlings appear in many countries, and if not the red -winged ones in your country, then here below is some more information that you can read about them.

The red-winged starling (Onychognathus morio) is a bird of the starling family Sturnidae native to eastern Africa from Ethiopia to the Cape in South Africa. An omnivorous, generalist species, it prefers cliffs and mountainous areas for nesting, and has moved into cities and towns due to similarity to its original habitat.*

This was how it all started, as the baby was pleading; Mommy, I am hungry!!!

So the mom flew off to take a short rest in a tree on the property.

The range runs down eastern Africa from Ethiopia to the Cape, KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng in South Africa. This species has a wide habitat tolerance. It may be found in forest, savannah, grassland, wetlands, fynbos, farmlands and commercial plantations, as well as urban centres. It is now common in many urban areas, due to the similarity between the structure of tall buildings and houses as nest sites with the cliffs of its original habitat. It may also nest in residential areas, breeding in roofs and apertures and up house eaves.

Then the mom returned without any food and she gave the youngster a piece of her mind. Billy, she said, *I taught you yesterday how to eat the chips that the drunk guy dropped when he came out of the store. *
Billy bowed his head and whispered; But mom, I don't see anyone dropping chips on the floor today.

Just a new way to style my posts, as some say that my normal style of placing 10 photos is too long, they do not like this. There are many English as a second language members on hive, and the replies to my posts clearly reflect that. So, I try to keep things easy to read, and thankfully we also have a translating feature on hive. But you can imagine how tedious it must be having to read every post by going the translating route.

So, short paragraphs and less photos it shall be as a test run for me. The quality of my posts will not be affected, as I will still place comprehensive posts with quality photos, and I only hope that it will improve my posts.

So, please tell me if you like the new style of less photos?

These birds are usually brave defending their babies, when you pass near their nests they will attack you, I have been in hive for a while, and I still don't know how many photos it is advisable to upload for content

Oh yes, they have attacked me a few times, but I am used to it.
I tend to do short stories lately, that are built around the pictures that I post. So I am sure that you will work it out. !LOL

I think we can infer who is the wife between the two birds !BBH !LOLZ !PIZZA

Oh yes, it can clearly be seen. !LOL

It's really lucky that the starling cub is already big and still being pampered by its mother.

I prefer short paragraphs but same number of photos.
These starlings are a big problem here.
They tried to destroy one of the swallow nests by dive bombing it.
Your photos are too good to limit!

Ah yes, that is also a good way to go about it.
Starlings do fight a lot with other birds when they want to claim a territory. Yesterday we saw a Sparrow hawk flying off with a small birds baby and the parents of the baby trying to catch the hawk to get their baby back.
Thank you for the kind compliment milady. I will go with the flow.
