Not one, or two, but three little miracles.

In all honesty, we only expected one, but nature was kind with a surprise.

Three Cape Wagtail babies greeted us when we arrived to check on the nest.

We discovered the nest about four weeks ago and popped in regularly to the Art Cafe to check on the nest. They serve nice plunger coffee at the cafe, and it is situated on a huge property owned by a church. Parents bring their children to the art cafe, where an art teacher takes them for lessons. You can see the paint on the floor there in the first photo. Not only art is taught here, as there is also a primary school and a school for children with disabilities. It is this school that Papillon supports. So, today, when we arrived, we saw the great news that the babies were out of the nest. Imagine expecting only one, and there are three of these little tykes looking at us.

Just to make sure, I climbed up to check the nest, and it was empty.

These two sat on the floor below the nest, and the other one seemed to be the first born, as he was a bit stronger than these two.

Mom arrived to feed.

There we go, this is how it is done.

There the first one flew out of the verandah.

Now look at that! The mom arrived with a little gecko.

In the meantime, the first born landed in this bush.

Then it popped down on to the back of this garden chair.

The garden chair was opposite my wife, and look how my wife stared at it, transfixed.

Now how is that for a punk-style hairdo?

Cute little things aren't they. And we were so pleased that you cannot believe. The long wait was over, and the bonus was three instead of one. I have taken some more photos of them, and also where they were born, but this post is getting a bit long. So, I will do another post about it sometime, depending on if you want to see it. Nature is very similar to the future, in that one can never know what to expect. There is always something new going on, but if you tie it to the seasons, then one learns so many lessons. It is early springtime here now, and the nights are still too cold for the flamingos to arrive, as this season I plan to get many shots of the flamingos. But in the meantime, the little birds keep us busy.
