Edible for insects and snails, yes. Would i give it a taste, absolutely not! Some of the other ones they eat are some of the deadliest mushrooms we know of.
I would always be on the side of caution with mushrooms Some of the best tasting ones have mimics that almost look the same but are poisonous. =)
moose also love to find and eat the beautiful Amanita muscaria... just to get rid off the parasite sin its stomach. i.e. they use toxic mushrooms as a remedy... ofc it doesnt mean it is strictly 'edible'
