Here are a couple of interesting things about buzzards.

In the mornings buzzards can not fly until the wind picks up.

Another thing about them is they have one mate for life.

A few years ago we found one dead under our powerlines and its mate was sitting on the pole, he/she still stays around our house, it is sad. They are always in groups and it is alone, I guess not wanting to leave the area where he/she last saw their mate.
