When butterflies choose my home [EN/PT]

At certain times of the year, several butterflies invade my house. Well, actually, the real invaders are the small caterpillars that feed on the leaves of a tree belonging to my neighbor. They simply go there, eat a few leaves, and then come here to form their cocoons. After a few weeks, the first butterflies begin to appear.

I like this time of year, because I can always take some photos of them, and needless to say, my house becomes more colorful, cheerful, and lively. Oh yes, the birds also love this time of year, they are always nearby, which is a good thing too. So, even though I live right in the center of a large city, nature makes itself present here.

So this time, I took the opportunity to photograph this butterfly emerging from its cocoon. About three weeks ago, I saw it settle exactly in that spot and create its cocoon. I didn’t take photos while that was happening, but right at the moment it emerged, I was there in my backyard, and it remained for a few hours stretching its wings. Maybe now it’s out there flying somewhere, or inside the belly of a bird. Nature is like that.

A natureza é assim.

Always an incredible process that I like to observe whenever possible. Need to hunt them out more as they do not usually come where I live, lucky you :)
