A few days ago, I had the chance to do a pre-birthday photoshoot for a girl who was turning 15. She wanted her session to feature horses, so we arranged to do the shoot at a local horse ranch, a beautiful and well-known spot in my city.
I snapped the first photo off-guard as they were introducing her to the horse. It turned out really nice and natural.
Hace unos dias tuve la oportunidad de hacer una sesion de fotos pre-cumpleaños para una chica que iba a cumplir 15 años de edad y ella queria que su sesion de fotos fuera con caballos, asi que la chica organizó que la sesion de fotos fuera en un criadero de caballos, un lugar muy hermoso y muy conocido en mi ciudad.
La primera foto se la tomé desprevenida mientras le presentaban el caballo, mi parecer quedó muy bonita y natural.
Then we started taking more posed shots based on our ideas
Despues comenzamos a hacer las fotos "mas posadas" segun las ideas que teniamos en mente:
he horse was really well-behaved, but it moved around a lot, so I took bursts of photos and chose the best ones in post-production.
For these shots, I used my Canon RP with a 24-105mm 4/f lens.
La verdad el caballo se comportó muy bien y aunque se movía mucho pudimos hacer unas fotos muy bonitas.
Eso si, al ser un animal tan grande y dificil de controlar, era impredecible asi que yo estuve haciendo rafagas de fotos para luego en la pos-produccion escoger las que quedaban mejores.
Para tomar todas estas fotos utilicé mi camara Canon RP con un lente 24-105mm 4/f.
Once we had a few good shots, the girl changed her outfit and we asked for another horse for some variety.
Before that, I took these two shots of her without the horse.
Como ya habiamos logrado capturar un par de fotos buenas, la chica se fue a cambiar el vestido y tambien buscamos otro caballo para lograr variedad en las fotos.
Pero antes, le tomé estas dos fotos para que también tuviera algunas fotos sin caballo:
Since she was wearing a black dress, we found a black horse to match.
I started by taking some photos of her walking alongside the horse, using the ranch's fences as leading lines for the composition.
Como la chica se puso un vestido negro tambien buscamos un caballo de color negro para que hicieran match.
Primero quise tomarle algunas fotos caminando junto al caballo, utilizando las vallas del lugar como lineas guías para la composición de las fotos:
Then I noticed the sun was starting to go down and I could create a cool lighting effect.
Luego pude percatarme que el sol estaba comenzando a bajar y podía hacer un efecto de luz con el sol de esta manera y se veía muy bonito:
Next, I continued taking photos of the girl with the horse. For these shots, we positioned the model with her back to the sun and used the natural light as a backlight, which silhouetted her beautifully. I used a flash as a frontal fill light.
Luego continué haciéndole fotos a la chica junto al caballo, para estas fotos pusimos a la modelo de espalda al sol y usamos la luz natural como contra, lo que la siluetaba muy bonito, y para rellenar utilicé un flash como luz frontal:
To wrap things up, here are two photos I really love because it almost looks like the horse was posing and smiling for the camera. It's super cute!
Y para finalizar les dejaré dos fotos que me parecen super tiernas porque de cierta manera siento que el caballo estaba posando para la foto se ve super tierno!
In the end, the girl was really happy with the photos we took that day. I hope you like them as much as we do!
