🇬🇧 Walk with me around RUTLAND WATER ~ WednesdayWalk

Hi all 👋🏻

Join me today as we walk around the reservoir of RUTLAND WATER and walk further towards OAKHAM along a walking path and circling back to Rutland water again. We walked there while I was visiting last summer the UK. 🇬🇧

The first thing we see after parking our car is this area. There are little boats 🚤 and in the back a fun park… to play on the water.

There is a little pier sticking out into the water.

Some seagulls are wandering along…

I see a bright red sail… ⛵️ it stands out against the green of the trees 🌳

It is a dark day… heavy clouds weighing down on us.
Do you see the ducks 🦆

On the left side I zoom in on everything that is stalled there. The slides 🛝 look cool 😎 i think they pull them out into the water further when they open for people to play on.

We start walking over the path, i see a RUTLAND WATER sign 🪧

There is also a sign with the area map on it. So you can see how large it is.

I see a carved tree trunk, in the form of a mushroom 🍄‍🟫

The views are wide around us, the sun ☀️ wants to peek through the clouds ☁️ will they let her?

Let us walk towards the water edge…
We stand next to the tree 🌳 its branches hanging low and we look through them along the reservoir.

It is nice and cool…

The colour of the water seems ever changing when you look over it. From blue to green to brown…

There is nobody around just us and the silence… it is very peaceful ☺️

We walk further…

I see a lonely crow hopping along the side.

The sky seems to get darker.

Passing through the gate, we are leaving the area from the sign and wander further towards Oakham now along a hard path.

We see the road goes up and down in the distance…

A big rock with a plaque.

In the distance a bench… shall we go for a rest and take in the view?

Walking there I find wildflowers 🌸🌸🌸🌸

Look how beautiful they are… come have a look at these insects 🪲🪲🪲

Walking further we are getting closer to the water side again. We site and rest. Taking in the views. 😊

Let’s walk further. As we get up I see this white butterfly 🦋

As I look at the butterfly my eye is pulled towards this bumble bee 🐝 How can I not take some photos of the #bee

A honey bee 🐝 is joining too 🥰

We walk further now, the green shrubs are getting thicker around us.

A wildlife-hide was build. Let’s have a look.

You can observe all the wildlife around you, without them noticing you. What a great place.

I could sit here for a while and see what passes by… 😊

But… we have to keep walking today… 😁

It is getting darker, maybe some rain later 🌧️

I find this view… the roots of the tree make it magical. Don’t you think?

We wander back to the parking now as it is getting late now.
