Riding Shotgun

Let's have fun! :)

I think "Riding Shotgun", the phrase that Americans use, is probably the best term I could figure out and use for this small photo experiment everyone could place.

The funniest part is that the results are almost unpredictable and always surprising. Also, be ready to later delete the bigger part of the images, however, that is not a problem at all, I'd imagine.

This exercise could also be very helpful both for you, with the firearm, pardon me, the camera in your hands, taking away some boredom and the driver - by helping her/him not fall asleep during a long night ride... For instance for some of those pictures below I asked the driver to try keeping the same distance to the vehicle ahead, during the whole exposure or to speed up or down. (Yup, make sure no one is tailing you when you do the latter :D)

From camera setting perspective, I'd recommend shutter times from 1 to 5 seconds, manual or shutter priority mode and ISO manually set to 100, let's say. Also, manual focus is recommended as it is very hard for the camera to focus under these conditions.

Then... wait for some lights in front of you and have fun for real :)

Sometimes the result is worth printing but if you don't like your pictures, at least it is a time well spent :D

What do you think? :)
