We leave Juneau and go to Hoonah to haul out, or for those non-sailors to take the boat out of the water.
Hoonah is a beautiful, little cute town.
We decided to take the boat out here in Hoonah because people told us that they allow up to 11 meter wide boats and our boat is 6.5 meters, it is quite difficult to find wide enough travel lifts. (You will see what a travel lift is in a minute).
You may ask, why are we hauling out?
Well we have had problems with our saildrive which basically is the propellor. Pretty much we found out that we have milky oil in our saildrive which is never good, but milky oil means we have saltwater in our saildrive, which tells us that one of the seals is leaky...enough explaining...lets get to it.
This is the fun part. . .
Basically they drop the slings completely under our boat, then we drive above the slings and adjust them as they lift the slings up since there are specific places where the slings can go.
Here are some more photos of our floating sailing boat:)
You can see how dirty our boat is...there you can see in the red jacket @glideglobe waterblasting the boat...
We call this cat fur and it REALLY reduces our speed (One Knot).
We stayed here for about 3 days.

Here are some more shots of us going back into the water...
And here is Hoonah harbour, beautiful reflections.
Thank you for reading, l hope you enjoyed my update.
