Winter has officially settled in India, and while the initial days came with bright sunshine that brought warmth, the last two days have been completely cloudy. The absence of the sun has brought a noticeable chill, making it feel colder than before. The sky is filled with clouds, the environment is foggy, and the sun's rays seem to have taken a break.
To combat the cold, people have resorted to different ways of staying warm. Some rely on heaters and blowers to keep their rooms cozy, while others layer up with warm clothes, which is sufficient for them. A traditional and communal way of staying warm is sitting around a fire made of firewood. I, too, have spent a lot of time doing this lately, enjoying conversations with others. It’s not just a way to stay warm but also a wonderful way to connect with people and share moments that the usual busy schedules don’t allow.
As the winter grows harsher, schools are closed for children, and you can see them playing outside, full of energy, completely unfazed by the cold. Even adults make the most of the weather, engaging in games like badminton and cricket, which are popular here. These activities not only help in staying warm but also bring joy and fun to the season.
Today, while sitting by the fire and chatting with others, I captured a few pictures of the burning firewood. The glowing flames and the crackling fire are mesmerizing, a beauty worth capturing. I’m sharing some of the best shots I took, and I hope you enjoy them.
