That is the problem right? Helping out can sometimes be detrimental to your own health and life. Saying no at the right time is not an easy skill to acquire.

Never easy to say no, definitely does help once you realize you wasting your time and effort.

For sure. I wish one could know beforehand when time and effort are wasted.

Sorry for only responding now, me and the girlfriend travelled a bit to Parys and Potch, plus I had some nasty deadlines again. .

Never a way of knowing for sure, always have to try first. Parys used to be an amazing place when we were young, Potch as teenagers we had a friend with large chicken farm we visited, another nice place from my youth, now long gone!

My mother grew up in Potch, or she went there to school. Lovely memories, like yours. Some of the places picking up, depending on where you go. Potch and Parys have lovely areas (which we visited) and nice places. But far from what it used to be.

My Dad grew up on a small farm in Redan just outside of Meyerton, walked to school in Meyerton. Crossed rivers to get to school originally under a tree, no bridges, something people forget is how hard the older generation had it.

We used to go down to Henley-on-Klip and Parys where family friends still had properties when young. Wall to wall housing up that way now, or shacks.

Yes, the shack problem in that area is scary. I saw on Google maps just how much it all surrounded Vanderbjil and neighbouring towns. Having driven through a couple of these towns, it is sad to see the decay.

Even though they had it hard, it made them stronger. Today, our youth is spoonfed so much that even the tiniest bit of hard work freaks them out. Such a sad state of affairs.
