Will 2026 Be Better
Not only at a personal level, since the start of 2020 the shit show simply appears to never decline, looking for positive at every level yet searching finding little except that in nature which still accompanies me in thought.
I don't know how with South Africa's track record, literally taking most things into decay, far worse for one who has lived through good and bad, now witnessing totally ugly as well.
In 2025, South Africa saw significant business closures, including major international banks like HSBC finalizing exits, alongside large-scale liquidations exceeding 1,000 companies by August, impacting finance, trade, and services sectors due to economic instability, power issues (load shedding), and regulatory challenges. While some closures reflect global strategy (e.g., Maserati, Audi, Fiat trimming car models), others, like ArcelorMittal SA and Goodyear, signal deep structural problems, with overall business sentiment declining due to unreliable energy, skills gaps, and high operating costs
Tough facing loss of fifty year plus partner, we never anticipate what is around the next corner how can we. Mere mortals lost in our own internal warfare.
Make everything count, realization keep super connected to community, remain firm in resolution, wade though legal jargon. Time waits for no-one, move yourself outside of that comfort zone. Face the cold, wet, crazy mind worms that distract you from living to the full each moment.
Frayed nerves, fluttering within, awaiting the unknown. Freedom Month people start talking about massive cracks evident in South Africa, we are in for a rough ride!
Bow your head, think deeply, through turmoil we have come, we will get through once again, many new voices now starting to voice open opinions. Once silenced eventually things start being spoken aloud, not only in our region.
Finger of light throws direction looking up, like the two step keeping you on your toes reminding me, energy above will flow to all below.
Speaking for myself we have been screwed, promises made never kept, country is back to East/West see-saw debacle, hopefully find clarity before total collapse.
Beautiful people, word now pollinating to all who think in similarly. Government does not listen, more wasted money on pretentious dialogue, big fail!
No matter nationality, culture or language, when hurting all feed under the same sun, alas that is what it has now become.
When will those who rule listen when that is what they are paid to do, exorbitant earnings with little to show, shit show is an understatement of what is going on around here.
Getting toward the end of the year, reflections ebb and flow. Little accomplished on a personal level, keeping contact more focus during the new year.
Tonight is the last night of the year, locked up under aircon, try maintain sanity with Woody old faithful when fireworks go off, still hoping for rain to wash it out!
How did you find 2025, agree or disagree with how I felt most year though. One massive dumper I will be glad to see over. Wishing All Happy New Year Hopefully 2026 will be better.

There weren't that many dramatic changes in our country (Czech Republic). Society is doing relatively well.
I thought it wasn't a very good year in my private life. But remembering some of your dramas, I'm doing much better.
Let's hope that "fortune smiles" on your country and you too will get better.

The fireworks changing over from 2025 to 2026 sounded like war.
I think people even though no money found a reason to take frustrations out, now to worry about the animals that suffered today.

The Uk has never looked so bad, uncontrolled illegal immigration, of 1000's of god knows who from god knows where, sucking the lifeblood out of the economy, free money free health care free housing and more whilst the indigenous tax payer struggles to get a doctor appointment...forget dentist, impossible.
Then we have the chancellor making the budget, looking after the shirker not the worker.
All this headlong rush to the buzz words "net zero", based upon unproven theories, whilst the powers of the Us China Russia India etc, look at this poxy little island and laugh as they grow their economies fired up by coal and gas, and good luck to them.
I fear for the younger generation, I really do
Ah I hear you, watched Hogmanay in Edinburgh at two o'clock this morning over here, simply to feel a little of what we had, wept as memories flooding in. Mixed blood half/half British/Boer, Scottish was most recognized in the home when young.
We have been invaded by every country from Nigeria all the way down walk in's. China deals, Russian comrades, Islam flaunting within parliament, all negative in predominantly Christian country.
Many minority groups now flee under refugee status offered by America, those who have not got out yet, tug o'war.
"Cry the Beloved Country" I feel for the next generation if things do not right themselves soon.

I have a lot to be grateful for, although it was still a hard year. I don't know what's going to happen over here in "the land of the free" but this country has been shitting its pants for so long now nobody can ignore the stench any longer. Now we wait and see if we learn to live with the crap or clean it up.
