AN UNEXPECTED RIDE ( 26 photos)

I know I promised to update more frequently in my last post, but I had some stuff to complete, so I was gone for a week. Please accept my heartfelt apologies.

I'm currently in Da Nang. On Monday, I returned here to complete a few classes at my school before the Tet holiday. The weather is similar to that of my hometown, rainy and chilly. It makes me miss home a little, especially after I've just had the most incredible ride of my life.

I decided to take a bike around my hometown on a Sunday afternoon. It stopped pouring in 3 hours after a couple of days of rain. I noticed a lot of these white birds on the field as I drove past the farm. They form a ring around each other; I assume this region has plenty of food, therefore they chose to land here. Then, when they heard the motor, they all flew up, and I saw the most incredible scene I'd seen in a long time.

There are maybe a hundred birds in the air in this photo. I wish I have a lens that has more reach so I can take these pictures more closely, if I have, that would be awesome.

I ride my bike to follow these birds, to find where they lived. And surprise, surprise, I found a small lake with a beautiful view.

This place was called Khe Muc Bai lake. This lake was built for
agriculture's purposes. this lake provides the water for all the farms in Huong Tra. And this is where the birds heading to.

They fly to those trees and choose some boughs that are near the water to sleep, I think. If you've been following me for a long, you know how much I enjoy discovering new lakes. This one is lovely; it's not very unique, but it has a hidden beauty that I'll reveal later.

I circled the lake in search of something interesting. Then I noticed a small dam. Because the water level is low here, I was able to get very near to the dam. Because there are many boulders in the middle of the water flow, I immediately think of long exposure photography.

These are a few long exposure shots that I am pretty happy with. The water is so clear and looks so smooth in these. This is a successful photoshoot for me, really happy with the result.
