Rare wild flowers from 4800m (Manali-Leh highway, India)

Today's post, featuring flowers and some birds, is about the spectacular flowers we recently captured on the Manali-Leh Highway. It was a long journey that took us seven days. The fragrance of wildflowers and the chirping of birds amidst the placidity of the mountains brought everything alive for me.

After crossing Rohtang Pass, we enter Lahaul. Beautiful flowers line both sides of the road. All the flowers that grow in the ravines of Ladakh are small and unique. Due to the lack of oxygen, there are fewer flowers here, but the ones that do bloom are unique and beautiful.

At More Plains, I stopped the car, picked up my camera, and despite the strong winds, I managed to take some photos of the purple flowers. I also managed to capture a red bird here. Although the bird was very playful and wouldn't stay still, I found the opportunity to capture it in the small window.

Standing on the Manali-Leh highway, I was thinking: in the city, humans grow flowers and put grains for birds, but here, at this altitude, where oxygen is scarce, nature does everything on its own, without social media and without any showmanship. Meaning, nature does everything well and perfectly, according to its own will.
