Spending The Golden Hour On the Field

I just found some pictures I didn't remember I had. Found these because I had forgotten about this particular memory card and I started to think about some photos that for some reason I didn't find on my current full card that has unprocessed photos on it. Having tried out several cards, I found the one I was looking for. Got the photos I searched for + some more.

About these field shots... I wasn't sure why I took those or what my purpose was. It's been a while. These are taken in the autumn, in October and are seemingly quite random. Having been thinking about it, I remembered that I had just gotten my new mirrorless camera and wanted to test it out. Probably drove out to this field due to the beautiful evening and a nice place for a walk.

During my walk, I found this nice-looking hay bale in the ditch, in the water. Cant but wonder, how did it end up in there? This place is far from a city with just some farmhouses nearby so the chances of having some hooligans rolling it in a ditch are extremely slim. If it was a farmer doing it himself... doesn't make any sense. Why would one want to waste his own perfectly fine produce?
The most likely scenario in my opinion is that there were many hay bales on the trailer. One of the bales fell off during the ride and into the ditch. The farmer probably didn't notice, or did but left it, since it's very hard to get it out of there.

Found a huge flock of birds and I happened to scare them off. Acted fast and took some photos of them in action. Birds are trouble for farmers, they eat the planted seeds.

I chillaxed a bit on the location. Waited until the sun went below the horizon, after which I drove back home.

I captured these photos because I wanted to test out the new camera. Well, 5 months have passed and only now do I see these photos, already way past my testing period 😅. Still, some quite nice photos came out of this test and walk.

Don't forget to participate in my monthly weather guessing game here and you might win 10 HIVE. The game is open until the 17th of March.

How many memory cards do you have? 🙂 sounds like there are plenty. I only have two and I regularly put my pictures on an external drive and then I sort them, so I can't imagine this would happen to me. It would be a nice surprise though as I would have unexpected material to post 🙂

Great photos! I love the ones with birds. I suck at taking photos of birds as I'm simply too slow. By the time that I get my composition ready, they are long gone 🤣

Thank you for sharing!

I think I have about 5 or 6 memory cards laying around. I take it out and put a new one inside. Since there wasnt any too important pictures on it, I forgot about it 😀.

Taking shots of birds is quite a trial and error. I did have 5 photos of this flock of birds but ended up deleting them and only kept these two you see here. Usually yeah, when the flock gets airborne, you only have 2 or 3 seconds to take a shot.

Must be so patient in waiting for that magical sunset. Can't blame anyone who would choose the place to while away testing whatever toys they've gotten, undeniably quite a relaxing and spacious spot your mind could travel far and wide. Nice shots especially the capture with those birds in the air and the sunset ..never bores me just so the world knows :)

It was very peaceful yea. Extremely quiet too, there was hardly any wind at the time. Pretty enjoyable.

I loved your Golden Hour. It is very beautiful there and conveys a lot of peace. I also feel that love is in the air.

Peace there was. Golden hours are always enjoyable.
