Good day dear Friends and Photography lovers!
Yesterday I decided to make a post about my city, but not about a city that is progressing, moving towards a better tomorrow..... No, my city has become a city of sad and lonely people, people whose children had to go "on their stomachs to earn a living" to a better tomorrow. My city has become a ruin both after the earthquake and after the destruction of the great and powerful factories in the past that employed 40% of the city's population.
My city has become a Broken Town!

I have already written to you, dear friends, about my city, but with a lot of enthusiasm and faith in a better tomorrow for it, for us..... But when I looked at these photos yesterday, most of them taken after the earthquake, I was overcome with immense sadness because I remembered the city during my childhood, my youth.... at a time when it was a happy city and we were all together with it.
My Sisak has historically been one of the largest industrial cities in Croatia. In the good old days, before the Homeland War, before the earthquake, before Covid and before the dishonest actions of the rulers and their subjects, it had an oil refinery, a steel mill, a river dock and port, a herbicide factory, an alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage factory, a clothing factory ..... All of that is gone today .... All the jobs that were in those factories have disappeared irretrievably ..... All the people who worked there have lost their jobs .....
We are left with pillars with more and more obituaries every day.
What remains are ruins, which are being rebuilt, slowly but surely. Every day a new void appears, because four years after the earthquake, buildings are still being demolished in the older part of the city.
All we have left are prayers for a better tomorrow and hope for a better tomorrow, no one can take that away from us.
We are left with Broken Town.
