Basilescu Park is a small park on the city's edges, towards Mogosoaia. If you live far away it's not worth the effort to visit it. It has nothing special except for an abandoned summer theatre which is now being renovated. For me, it is handy as it is less than 50 m away from my house.

Oh, I've been to Mogosoaia Palace during my stay in Bucharest but failed terribly to reach this one too. But makes sense now that you mention it. I still miss Bucharest from time to time tho!
It seems natural to me to miss where you lived during school. I miss most of the cities where I have traveled and stayed for a few days at least.
