Going to the beach in winter time, often gives me a novelish feeling, like something very sad or extremely romantic is about to happen. Especially when there are oddments from the summer activities like a lifeguard kiosk, a beach umbrella or the empty seaside restaurants, that weird feeling is more intense and more ominous.
There is something so unnatural during the winter, to seaside resorts that are built exclusively for the summer. Everything seems so irrationally placed and completely out of context. Even this place that it is just an hour away from my home and I am visiting it again and again for years, even here which is a place familiar, scenic and pleasant, it has turned into a strange, tacky and almost hostile scenery!
The closed shutters, the forgotten signs, the sprawling parked cars and the rusty air-conditions don't help either. Not to mention the strong wind which by the way I hate!
And after all this if I tell you that I had a lovely day and enjoyed my visit very much, would you believe me?

Yes, actually, I would believe you. Your photos speak as poetically as your words do @fotostef! It does seem hostile indeed. So strange and yet so poignant, like something is about to happen......
Thank you very much @buckaroobaby!
Actually nothing really happened :)
What? Did you forget @traisto at home? Surely the glamourous gardening couple could've MADE something happen?
Haha, of course she was there and of course something happened. Just nothing too strange or poignant! You would learn more when she finish editing too :)
Thank you very much for your support!
I would believe you! 🙂 I would love to visit a beach when there's no one else there because it's not the "correct season."
I don't get to experience that. 😅 I live in a town that's next to a coastal town and we visit there very often, but even in winter there's hundreds of people everywhere and that seems to be the best season to whale watch which is the main tourism there.
Wow! Whale watch? That sounds very exotic to me :)
Yes! Around mid-July through to November (our winter and spring) whale watching season starts. We have boats that go out every morning or afternoon, some that stay out all day, some that even offer a swimming with the whales experience.
I've never personally experienced the whale watching that's offered, but I'd love to one day. 🙂
It sounds like a wonderful experience!
Sometimes its nice to find a quiet spot on the beach, although seems like winter is the best time to do so. Great set thanks for sharing.
I am glad you like it!
Thank you for stopping by @mmckinneyphoto13 :)
Really love the intensity of these photos
I hate strong winds too . Makes me feel rattled and out of sorts.
Thank you @riverflows, I am glad you like them! I was wondering if I exaggerated a bit with the editing part.
The wind is ridiculously strong right now too, but I am inside :)
What a desire it gives me to want to be there, I loved the pictures, they are beautiful.
Thank you @jlphotographyart, I am really glad you like them :)

I actually really love the beach in Winter @fotostef of course I'm lucky in getting to live on one, but our area is not filled with palm trees and such amazing things as these photos. I really just love the quiet still frozen world to be found on Winter beaches and it's amazing to see this concept in such a different type of beach, thanks for this.
Thank you very much for stopping by @donnadavisart!
I am glad you liked my post, I wasn't sure that people would like to see summer resorts during winter but it looks like many do :)
Very atmospheric photos and story. Yes, I certainly believe that you enjoyed your visit as reading your post made me want to spend a day there myself :)
Thank you, I am glad you like them! I guess that what we call here cold winter, is like a joke in Russia :)
Yes, this is true for most of Russia :)
