Photographing the Monarch Butterfly...beautiful

It's a joy to catch the butterflies and bees in action when they go from flower to flower transferring pollen. This day the Monarch butterflies were abundant amongst many different flowers.

I used the Nikon 750 (zoom lens) to capture these photos and I tried my best to get the composition of colors on each shot. My focus is to get the eyes of the Monarch as it's doing it's work.

The contrast of the white flower and orange/black body of the Monarch is perfect. This particular butterfly is quite healthy and it's wings look in great shape.

The Monarch Butterfly is amazingly beautiful as you can see in this composition. The butterfly is well known for it's long journey's of flying 100 miles per day and over 3000 miles in it's migration path. It relies on the fuel of what it eats as a caterpillar to make this journey. These beautiful creatures live only 2-6 weeks and give their lives to make the journey to sustain the next generation of their offspring.

Beautiful and simple photo capturing the green bokeh contrast with the white flower pedals.

Anytime I see purple flowers and butterflies is like a match made perfect. The Monarch's colors contrast wonderfully.
