Ground Squirrels one of my favorite animals

You probably know that I am a Fan of birds and nearly like every bird that has the courage to come in front of my lens. But also these Ground Squirrels dare to get very close to me so they are a perfect subject for some photography. I still haven't visited them this year unfortunately and that's why I need to show you some pictures from the deep spots of my harddisk. Since they are so cute and good to photography I also printed some pictures with them in 45x30 cm to hang on my walls in my flat and I always enjoy seeing them.

The squirrels live on a meaddown near Vienna and on several other spots in Lower Austria and Burgenland, you can also find them in Hungary and some countries that are in the eastern part of Europe. I really like to visit them also in Hungary at the Lake Balaton where they also should live in smaller colonies. I know there they are not so much used to humans and probably much more difficult to photograph. On my favorite spot near Vienna they are pretty much used to humans and you can get really close as a photographer.

I have seen quite a few of these little critters around. They are pretty neat. You have some really great close ups.

Hive Power Up Day - June 1st 2022

Manually curated by ackhoo from the @qurator Team. Keep up the good work!

These fluffy guys are adorable. Especially the photo where he has a flower is simply amazing.

Yes they are, thank you.

These are so cute! I could be watching them all day long.

We have similar ground squirrels and prairie dogs here in the Inland Northwest of the USA. They can make pastures dangerous for livestock due to the risk of broken legs from stepping into their holes.

I hadn't noticed it before, but squirrel eyes are deeply black. Very nice photos.

Yes, i like taking pictures of them.
