Best is to go the bridge camera route. It is much cheaper, and you should have let me know about your camera issue, as I recently gave my standby camera, a SX60HS to a guy that does all of the church gatherings photography.

The camera itself is perfect, it is just old technology. So when I try to capture a quick flying bird, the autofocus is a bit lazy haha. I will check it out, but I also want to maybe go into professional photography, if the teaching does not plan out. We can discuss this when we meet up again!

Yes, I saw that! And they still have some nice specials. I have done the math, to do professional photography, you need to invest round about R100 000.00
That is the price of a small car! Crazy if you think about it. But I guess if you make it, you will have no shortage of work. I have seen some wedding packages selling anything from R15 000 for the day up to R50 000 for the day. If you do three of those, you have paid back the camera.
A guy that we know, and I chat to him sometimes, has taken his professional status a few steps further. He built his own big studio, with a lot of photography equipment inside, and he makes promotional videos for the wine farms and businesses. Not only that, as he also travels all over in nature, and he publishes his photos in magazines and other media. So, weddings are small fry to him.
I can go and show you his studio when we meet again.
