Simple Life On Photos

in Photography Lovers11 months ago (edited)

A few days ago I showed you some photos from the photo exhibition I visited on Monday I think. You can check them out here if you missed my post. There were so many good photos that it took me a lot of time to wrap up my visit. Even though I always take photos and document everything, I still like to look at the photos or artworks at the scene as that's the original.

Our Little Village

Each photo has its own story and can tell you quite a lot if you can see the meaning, but when you see photos like the one above ... I don't know about you but it left me speechless. What do you say about a photo like this and why? In my opinion the composition is amazing. (I have to note I'm sorry the man has lost his leg as that must be said.) Whoever came up with the idea is a smart one. One thing I noticed is lack of symmetry in framing things. The man is not sitting in the middle, between the two windows and that most likely was intentional. The space left at the sides is not symmetrical either, maybe this makes it special. Maybe this is the beauty of it.

About the title, there's a parody aired by one of the Hungarian broadcasters with the exact same title. I don't know if the title has anything to do with the series, or just want to say that village life is like this, everyone knows everything and there are eyes everywhere.

Feng Shui

This photo made me smile. If you don't realize what you're looking at, this is the village version of a mancave, so to speak. It's shed made of wood and the walls are covered with magazine covers. On the right there are some naked and half naked ladies. It's a joke really as the difference between the two categories on social level is huge, but it's a good joke. On the other hand, nothing is unreachable when you're dreaming, right?

Another wonderful portrait (please disregard the reflections, there was no way of avoiding them, unfortunately), the kind that speaks without words.

My Guest Is Infinity

This photo also has a lot to say. You can see similar scenes if you go to villages far from big cities, where time has stopped a long time ago. Younger generations usually leave these villages in pursuit of a better life, securing a better education to their kids, while the elders remain. You don't move them from there at their age. They have lived a simple life and worked hard to provide for their families. What you see on the photo is an adobe house, a very old one that needs renovation, but no one is going to do the work. An old widow is resting in front of the house, after a day of work. It's heartbreaking to see the loneliness, but this is life.

In The Mist Of Remembrance

This was another wonderful photo with a deep meaning and even though it was hard to take a half decent shot, I'd like to post it. These scenes are also not rare. When you have lived there all your life, imagine the feeling when walking past those crumbling houses, remembering those times when your relatives lived there. It's hard when most of the people you once knew left and you're left behind. That chapter is closed and will never be reopened.

A couple of months ago I visited a village like that and it's really to digest the poverty and the decadence that is visible to everyone. This is how entire villages disappear. It's heartbreaking.

Waiting For The Shower

This is also a scene from the past. Hay gathering this way belongs to the past. Nowadays one man can do it in no time, with the help of modern era equipment, no need for the whole family to spend their day working.

Waited For, Not Escorted

The truth is, we see similar scenes around us every day, but I don't know if we can recognize the good opportunity. I hope one day I'm going to be this good, but who knows. I'm not dreaming of getting my photos exhibited, but I'd like to be as good as the photographers I see at the exhibitions.

@dimascastillo90 I hope you like these photos :)

Next time I'm going to show you more amazing photos, from another exhibition, among which those who won the competition.

Do you agree, that symmetry in this case doesn't really matter?
I was hoping you'd like these as in my opinion, they are all great and of course I tag you anytime I post something I think you'd like 😁

Please tag me and I'm looking forward to it, now you made me curious 😍
Many hugs to you too and your model as well 😂🤗😘

Yes, I agree that symmetry in this case doesn't matter 😌

Well, they are not as good as the photos of the exhibition you visited but I think they could be interesting 😊

I love all these photos. To me they all represent real life and experiences. Maybe not the the best of life but experiencing none the less.

It would be nice to be able to capture photos as these photographers did. I guess being a professional is just that. I'm sure they have many techniques and use the best of cameras.

You're right, these are moments of life, but with a deep meaning, representing more than just moments.

Equipment certainly helps a lot, but you also have to be at the right place in the right time. Also ask for permission, which I'm not very good at. I don't photograph people for privacy reasons.

Yup I may have randoms in photos but I never do close ups unless people I know. I have asked to take pictures of things but never a person.

I miss the simplicity of that kind of life. I didn't get to enjoy a lot of it in my childhood but I still remember it and feel like we need more of that even in the 21st century...

I know what you mean but unfortunately this lifestyle is on its way of disappearance. Village life in not the same anymore.

These are great shots. The first one - wow! the closeup portrait, the widow, the hay gathering. I feel these photos are great on their own as art but also important to capture these simple scenes from the countryside for future generations. Such scenes will not be here in a generation or two.

Such scenes will not be here in a generation or two.

You're spot on. In fact these scenes are already hard to find as village people are not what they were once. Many are moving to villages, to have a quiet life, but they are not working the land and the houses look more luxurious than in some cities.

What touched my heart the most was a photo of an old widow sitting as if she was daydreaming or perhaps resting. I will probably imagine my own fate when I get old, hopefully my children & grandchildren will always accompany me :)

Yes, that photo is heartbreaking, if you can see the meaning. And how many are there, like this old lady.

I will probably imagine my own fate when I get old, hopefully my children & grandchildren will always accompany me :)

That's what everyone is hoping for, but life is so busy these days that they only visit once or twice a year.

All the photos have a unique story, however, my guest is infinity stands out for me as it still happens in this day and time. The younger generation is always in pursuit of better things while the older generation is content and alone most times

Yes, that scene can be found in most parts of the world for the obvious reasons and it's always sad.

I always miss seeing some of the photos you show, indeed in all photos they have their own stories, and I also always miss living a simple life, like in my childhood. Thank you @erikah for sharing your experience again in the face of your visit to the photo exhibition.

I'm glad you like these @furkanmamplam.

I love all the photos and you did an amazing job giving each photo a story.

Thank you.

The meanings you have personally attached to the images are so deep. The images truly reflect human experiences with more meaning as you look deeper.

I shared what I saw on those photos, but who knows, maybe others can tell a different story.

These photos are amazing and unique in their own way. Thank you for always sharing these lovely sights for us to savor.

Indeed, each one is unique.

A photo says so much, especially black and white!

You're right, black and white focuses on details more.

Classic photos in black and white are my favorite. I really enjoy all these photos. especially the first photo, that is the photo I like the most, standing at the window is a compact village atmosphere. Thank you @erikah for sharing again with us here.

I know you like black and white. I like it too as it focuses on details and it has a bigger impact, if it is a portrait. The first one is my favorite too. It's brilliant!

Thanks you 🫠🙏

In the old days, people really knew how to show emotion and feeling through photos.

They were and still are honest. They don't know how to pose for a selfie, which is a very good thing.

“Our little village” looks like a family photo filled with only female children.😊 I like it😁

Will love to take photos using that style with my family.

“In the midst of remembrance” it actually transmits a more in-depth meaning to me. There are some ugly pasts I won’t like to remember.

You can organize a photo shoot with your family, if you live in a similar house, put people in the window and take the photo :)

These are all so awesomely beautiful, these village life photos remind us of where most of us are coming from, the nostalgic feelings, and no matter that life there is like 'living in the shadows of yesterday', I still connect to them. Thanks for sharing them @erikah.

Greatly captured.

Thank you for sharing these thoughts and photos from the exhibition. It's clear that each image holds a story and captures a moment in time.

What great art you always show us in your publications. Feng Shui is great!!! 😁. Hugs

Hi @erikah

First of all, I love the photo exhibition reports you upload. And secondly, the good critical treatment you do of the authors. I find it very interesting how you analyse the work of the different photographers you present to us.

Thank you very much for sharing.

Well done

@erikah..whstever it is you hate about me, I'm not such a bad person as you might think...well I made mistakes previously and I accept that, but you can't continue to hate me on the blockchain. , that's very unfair, I'm not begging for your vote or what, but then everyone deserves a second chance
