La Colonia Tovar es una ciudad venezolana, capital del municipio Tovar, en el estado Aragua. Fue fundada el 8 de abril de 1843 por un grupo de inmigrantes alemanes provenientes del entonces estado independiente de Baden.

Es famosa por su cultura, por su clima templado y por la cordialidad de su gente. Depende básicamente de la agricultura (donde destacan cultivos de clima templado como duraznos, fresas, remolacha, coliflor, zanahoria, repollo, acelga, brócoli, lechuga, cebollín y papas) y del turismo.

Después de su fundación, se publica en la Colonia Tovar el Prospecto de Boletín Bilingüe Español-Alemán, se fabrica la primera cerveza artesanal de Venezuela y se crea el primer Jardín Botánico.
