The best camera you have is the one you have in your hands. Somehow, it is always just the right one.
Shubie Gorge, Chott el Jerid, Matmata, Djerba, and other areas in the North African country are the real-world stand-ins for the planet Tatooine where we were first introduced to Luke Skywalker in "A New Hope." The name of the fictional planet was borrowed from a real Tunisian town called Tataouine
I always wondered where that was.
I think some of the outdoor shots come out better (or more vivid) with the cell phone. Now, with the new phones, even more so. I like the nearly split image of #3. It was a big deal growing up, or perhaps that was just my dad. We made a real party of it. :)
I've been there in person with the wife back in the 90's. We rode a Camel and visited the various film locations in the rocky Sahara of Tunisia. It was a very interesting trip.
We met some Berber trogladites who still live in the caves there.
I have old school photos of the trip buried away in storage boxes. 🤯👍
How cool is that!!!! You should have written that in your post! :) I am in the process of going through all of my old school photo boxes. I am putting them in piles for my kids and digitizing many of them from travels.
What a job!
We did that a while back. It's surprising how many terrible out of focus or badly composed photos we had. 📷😂👍🏼
