The monastery Zrze is located near the village Zrze, approx.30km from Prilep, Macedonia at an elevation of 1000m. The monastery is located on the slopes of Dautica Mountain and overlooks the great plain of Pelagonija. The whole complex has several buildings and churches and is partly located on a large travertine rock. In the second half of the 9th century, monks settled at the Zrze travertine rock, on which are located the monk cells.
It is a male monastery and the monks also draw icons.
The monastery is named after the village Zrze, above which it is located. Unfortunately, the village is deserted, but although there is a road to the complex, it is best to leave the car in the village and walk up to the top.
The first few photographs were taken in the village:
There is a monastery up there.
A couple of photos along the way:
Here you can see the monk cells in the rock:

There is also a pond:
Can you imagine people living here for years?
It's time to go back because it will be dark soon.
Someone may have come by car and decided to stay. :)
Some people use words, others use light to say what they feel.
