Perfect weather today

break.png

My wife and I decided we were going to hike up to Stewart Falls today. The hike is up past Sundance Ski Resort in Provo Canyon, Utah. My wife and I are trying to go hiking every Sunday this summer, and this is the second hike we completed.

The weather was perfect for the whole hike. We got there around 930 or so, so it was still pretty cool, especially up in the canyon. The majority of the hike is wooded, so there is decent shade throughout the whole thing. It does get pretty steep at some points and there are other spots that are a lot of rocks to walk across, so if you are bringing little ones or animals up, make sure to watch them at these parts.

There is a toilet station at the beginning of the trailhead, but this is what it looks like. You may want to avoid using this toilet, unless you like getting diseases. My wife said that other one was worse than this too. So be sure to go to the bathroom prior to heading out for this hike cause these are pretty nasty.

The trailhead start off with this view, but quickly opens up to a pretty majestic view of the Rocky Mountains.

I can't wait to move out of the city and move out to the mountains and live in this kind of setting for the rest of our lives. I was talking to my wife and I want to get a few acres of land in a forest and just have a few tiny homes there. One for us and then a couple for our kids to come and visit us with their families.

The hike up to the falls is pretty awesome and there are a lot of spots where the trees clear and you have a pretty amazing view at Sundance resort or the rest of the canyon.

It was around this part of the hike where you begin to hear the waterfalls in the distance.

Then a short while later, it opens up and you can see them. But you still have about 20 minutes or so left before you get to them.

It is a 2 mile hike out to the falls and it took us about 58 minutes. That is with us going at a pretty slow pace and taking pictures.

It felt so nice to be close to the falls because the water was spraying up in the arm and it felt so good on our hot skin.

wwest210606_1593.jpg

It was nice that we left earlier in the morning because there was only 2 moms with their kids there. By the time we were leaving, more and more people with their dogs started to show up.

My wife wanted to go under the falls and cool off.

That was as far as she got under them. The water was so cold.

This is such a cool place to hang out. We had packed a few sandwiches, so we decided to eat before we headed back.

We have had so much bad stuff in our lives happening these past couple weeks and it has been nice to be able to get out and be in nature. My daughter lost two friends in the past two weeks and has been having a hard time processing all of that. She was supposed to come with us on this hike today, but she didn't sleep well last night so she just wanted to sleep. Next week we are probably going to be doing this hike again because she would have loved it.

Overall, this is a pretty awesome hike. The trail gets crowded in the afternoon with families and stuff, so if you want to have the trail nice and quiet, I would get there as soon as possible.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out the pictures from our hike. You are awesome!

Damn son, this looks like the perfect hike. Looking forward to taking my tent on a long hike and camping this summer. Need to buy a new fishing rod so I can fish up some supper as well. Awesome!

I would love to go on the 16 mile hikes that we have in the area and bring a tent and some food and do the hike in a couple days while having some awesome camping along the way.

Such a wonderful trail to hike with someone you love being with. So much to share and enjoy together. The views and the waterfall are so beautiful. Even the toilet will be an aspect of this day that you'll never forget. GREAT photographs that take us there now. ♥︎♥︎⚖️♥︎♥︎

That toilet was disgusting. I am glad that I didn't have to sit on it.

I liked the photograph of sandwich that you were holding in your hand.

Lol, that sandwich did hit the spot after that hike too.

Fantastic shots of that awesome area. What a great hike! Love those waterfalls.

Thanks man, it was a pretty refreshing hike

Nice hike and nice photos. No need for toilet when hiking. Just use the ''natural toilet'', you know what I mean.

lol. There are too many people in this area to be pooping or peeing in the woods.

Beautiful! Always love near adventures and a waterfall like this just adds to the perfect hike!

It really was a perfect hike. Not too long and a nice surprise at the end.

Beautiful place and a great post I luv the outdoors

Bruh... but why the toilet photo? 😆 NASTY! It's pretty crazy we both decided to do this hike on the same weekend. I agree with it being beautiful! One of my favorite hikes thus far.

I was looking into tiny homes a couple years ago. I also am considering this as an option down the road! Especially when the kids are gone, it would be fantastic. I don't plan on spending most of my time home. I'd much rather travel etc!

I also put photos up and a post about this hike, but you're photos are SOOO much better! 😄. Way to ruin my confidence with photography, and I thought I took some decent photos! 🤣
