Here in the US we are honoring the lives that have been lost of those in the military service. This has always been a pretty important time for me.

Four years ago, I was able to attend a Memorial Day at a cemetery in Virginia and it was pretty special. The sound of Taps being played by a lone bugle is pretty moving.

I have lost a lost a lot of close friends and this weekend is dedicated to their memory. They are gone, but not forgotten.

Oh, man. I've only got the chance to talk to a WW2 vet once (brazilian ww2 vet; brazilian expeditionary forces). I wanted to ask so much details but held back, didn't want to bring back bad memories. There might not be many still alive.

Ya, it is so cool talking to WW2 vets and sharing war stories.

Living history; not so many alive though =/

I'm sorry you've lost a lot of close friends to military service. That's so rough but I'm glad you're taking the time to honor their lives.

Thank you
