Cold Water Lake Photography

Our Canadian lakes are famous for their pristine scenery, fresh air, and Cold water! Trust me — it’s cold. Good thing I don’t do a whole lot of swimming in them. I’d much rather be hiking to them, or canoeing and kayaking on them. In the Canadian Rockies, a lot of lakes are glacially fed, which is why they are so cold. During the Summer, they naturally warm slightly, reaching their warmest point by approximately mid to late July. So there is your warning! If you are coming up here to enjoy the lakes and want to participate in water sports like swimming, then you now know when the water is at it’s warmest. Thanks for stopping by.

What a beautiful view! The lakes formed by glaciers are always so beautiful, albeit very cold... That first view just makes me want to get a kayak in there, and be the only one of the lake! lol

Great shots you captured, great work!

Cold, but beautiful..no problem for me though, as I always prefer the hiking, canoeing over swimming anytime.

Great to see, not to use for swim 😅 it's already not very hot in Canada, if they are coming from snow becoming liquid they gonna be super cold

You caught some great reflections there, the other day the water was full green, now it's transparent and they are all very nice

Yes, our Canadian lakes are really worth a visit someday. Thanks for stopping by as always.

Greetings over here 😁 well, definitely the water looks like a mirror; crystal clear and reflective. What I didn't know is that thing about the water being warm enough in certain seasons. In Venezuela there is a certain place where the water looks nice but if you get to touch, you'll notice it's a thermal. Nice pictures.

Oh I see. Someday will need to head on over to Venezuela and check out the lakes!

The water looks so transparent from the views in the first picture, but Torquoise when you take a look from the angle in the last pictures. Great shots you have here.

Thanks @josediccus, always appreciate your comments.

You're welcome always..

"Glacially fed" refers to water sources, like lakes or rivers, that are primarily supplied by meltwater from glaciers.

Glaciers are massive, persistent bodies of ice that slowly flow downhill under their own weight.

Today I learned something new, thanks to your text!

As usual, awesome photographs!

Thanks for the breakdown,I learned something new

Glad to hear that :)

Thanks @hafiz34. We all learn together!

Warm water?

Now that's weak😂😂😂

Jump in and scream out 🙂‍↕️>>>

Love the black and white though ✨

Oh yeah! Still would rather be hiking than swimming any day of the week...

A view that never gets boring to enjoy. It's interesting, the big rock seems to act as a guardian of the place. The pine tree behind it is always ready to be the most beautiful background no matter what happens. The reflection in the water makes the atmosphere even cooler, the water is also calm.

Watching over the ice cold water yes!

The black and white photos look really good, they give a completely different perspective from the color photos by revealing what is under the water.

Yes, the B&W's reveal details that the colours typically do not. Thanks for stopping by.

Your B&W photos with the water in the foreground and mountains in the background look similar to Ansel Adams.

Thanks for the compliment @bullion-guide.

Very fresh and very cold! Thanks.

I like the view of the rock.. now I know why lakes are warm /cold

Yes, we all learn as we go along.

I feel like hiking to those lakes would be such a cool adventure (even if the water’s too cold for swimming)

Sometimes you just gotta swim right!

Beautiful photographs.

Thank you.

I am not a huge fan of lakes and rivers, I don't even swim 😀. But I love the natural view. Thank you so much for sharing

I get that. Thanks for looking.

You're welcome friend

Yes, thanks for visiting.

Gotta plan to swim when it is the warmest, at least for me.
