Tankspace: Firestarter

Well, after Posts featuring Tankspace images HERE, HERE and HERE, I'm now ready to crack on with the images from this final set. There were 6 models in total, the first 3 were featured in the last Post, and now with the images for the second 3 models done I'm on the final stretch.

The bonus of working with lots of different models is that they all bring a different angle or skill set to the shoot... For Lanina, that meant Fire!

Now, we all know that Fire and Water don't mix. For this reason the main water rig was turned off, and a jet of water from a shower head was used. This was pointed just behind the model, so we could get the effect of the rain without it affecting the fire itself.

It was quite obvious that Lanina knew what she was doing, so we let her get on with it and decide what poses to take, and we took it in turns trying to capture it... and no-one expected her to get this close to the fire

This was a fantastic little set, and it meant I had a chance to get some different images for my portfolio, I think that one just above is one of my favourites from the whole days shooting.

Not only was there a slightly unhealthy obsession with fire, but she was also fantastic underwater in the Tank. Some people are are effortlessly graceful, creating beautiful and elegant poses with absolute ease... this was another winner in my book!

Another naturally elegant model was of course Lucille (who I've already mentioned in previous posts)

Lucille

Probably one of the more experienced models here, and for a normal shoot she charges quite a high rate. Lucille did say that even though she normally gets paid for work, she is happy to do TFP (Time For Prints) for these water shoots, just because it is a great chance of getting something unique for her portfolio

Hayleigh

On the other hand, Hayleigh was out of her comfort zone. She has done modelling in the past, but only really as a Bodypaint model. Where its more about being a canvas for an artist to paint on, than having to strike any particular poses.

That as it may, Hayleigh was excited to do something new, and tick this off her 'bucket list' and personally, I think that even with the limited experience, I thought she was excellent.... full of energy and enthusiasm.

And there we have it... 2000 images, 8 hours shooting, 50 hours editing (not an exagaration!) I have made it to the end!

I thoroughly enjoyed this, but it is a relief to finally finish. I don't know when my next photography shoot is but there won't be any water involved thats for sure....

The fire and rain made some epic shots

looking so amazing

Excellent shots Dan. I'm still very surprised at the quality of a lot of the images coming through from this shoot considering how much of a (very polite) scramble it was to get shots. I actually really like the BTS shot with Lanina, gives a bit of an idea of what it was really like

Excellent post, I was fascinated! It's really amazing what we can describe in a photograph.
