This post is fantastic! You spoke my own heart to me here. I don't think i ever became as good as you in the processing aspects even though i am a couple of years older. I miss the darkroom, the red lights, the smell of the chemicals and having to roll the film in the dark. I miss the aspect of having no idea what you would end up with until after a lot of risk was taken and the meticulous process was completed to get your negatives as a result.
The wonderment of the whole experience is what initiated my passion for photography. I was not thrilled about the digital revolution either! Thank you for sharing your experiences and leaving this lost but not forgotten history for those younger than us that have never known there was ever any other way! Keep up the great work.
Thanks to you for reacting to this story and glad to see I'm not the only one obsessed with the magical of film photography. Let's hope film photography can still live for as long as it can even if it's not used very much these time.
