After six months of absence, I am back on HIVE.
I hope that the software is now running smoothly, because there is a lot of news to report.
I am currently gaining experience in how to use my newly acquired drone for light painting. This will certainly keep me busy for a while, as I am a beginner when it comes to drones. I will report on this here.

Ich hoffe, dass die Software nun stabil läuft, denn es gibt viel Neues zu berichten.
Zurzeit sammle ich Erfahrungen, wie ich meine neu erworbene Drohne beim Lightpainting zum Einsatz bringe. Das wird mich sicher noch eine Weile beschäftigen, da ich Anfänger beim Umgang mit Drohnen bin. Ich werde hier darüber berichten.

I conducted my first flight tests on a remote piece of land belonging to a friend of mine in Bueno Brandao, Minas Gerais, Brazil. Here, I can't disturb or hurt anyone.
The plan was to draw a circle of light around a tree and illuminate the surrounding area with the help of the drone. The idea is certainly not entirely new, but it has been buzzing around my head for years, waiting to be implemented.
For this project, I used my newly acquired 3D printer to build a holder for a small torch. The frame, including the torch, weighs 41g.
A test flight in daylight showed that the drone can handle it. The controls worked perfectly. I also printed a diffuser that I can simply attach to the lamp if necessary. The diffuser also has the advantage of allowing a colour filter to be attached.
Die ersten Flugversuche unternahm ich auf einem abgelegenen Grundstück meines Freundes in Bueno Brandao / Minas Gerais / Brasilien. Hier kann ich niemanden stören oder verletzen. Der Plan war, einen Lichtkreis um einen Baum zu ziehen und die Umgebung mit Hilfe der Drohne auszuleuchten. Die Idee ist sicher nicht ganz neu, schwirrt aber schon seit Jahren durch meinen Kopf und wartet darauf umgesetzt zu werden.
Für dieses Projekt habe ich mir mit Hilfe meines ebenfalls neu erworbenen 3D-Druckers eine Halterung für eine kleine Taschenlampe gebaut. Das Gestell inklusive Taschenlampe bringt ein Gewicht von 41g auf die Waage. Ein Testflug bei Tageslicht zeigte, dass die Drohne damit fertig wird. Die Steuerung funktionierte einwandfrei. Zusätzlich habe ich mir noch einen Diffusor gedruckt, den ich bei Bedarf einfach auf die Lampe Stecken kann. Der Diffusor hat ausserdem den Vorteil, dass er die Montage eines Farbfilters ermöglicht.

The first attempt to fly the drone around a tree was successful, as can be seen in the cover photo.
However, it was not necessary to attach an additional lamp to the drone, as the DJI Mini 5 Pro already has a lamp that can be switched on using the remote control supplied. The light is bright enough to illuminate the surroundings.
However, when evaluating the images on the computer, I noticed the drone's position lights in the picture. I didn't think that looked very good. So I repeated the attempt the following night without the position lights. Without the position lights, the drone was much more difficult to control. It is difficult to see in which direction the drone is moving. This created a new problem, because I had set the drone to automatically fly around obstacles. In the darkness, the sensors apparently cannot detect small branches accurately, which ultimately caused the drone to crash.
As you can see in the next picture, the joint of the left arm was damaged. However, an emergency repair with adhesive tape quickly got the drone back in the air.

Es war allerdings nicht nötig, eine zusätzliche Lampe an die Drohne zu montieren, da die DJI Mini 5 Pro bereits über eine Lampe verfügt, die über die mitgelieferte Fernsteuerung eingeschaltet werden kann. Das Licht ist ausreichend hell, um die Umgebung zu beleuchten. Bei der Auswertung am Computer fielen mir aber die Positionslichter der Drohne im Bild auf. Das fand ich nicht so schick. Also wiederholte ich den Versuch in der darauf folgenden Nacht ohne Positionslichter. Ohne Positionslichter war die Drohne bedeutend schwieriger zu steuern. Es ist schwierig zu erkennen, in welche Richtung die Drohne sich bewegt. Damit begann ein neues Problem, denn ich hatte die Drohne so eingestellt, dass sie Hindernisse automatisch umfliegen soll. In der Finsternis können die Sensoren scheinbar kleine Zweige nicht fehlerfrei erkennen, was die Drohne schließlich zum Absturz brachte. Wie auf dem nächsten Bild erkennen kann, ist dabei das Gelenk des Linken Arms beschädigt worden. Eine Notreparatur mit Klebeband brachte die Drohne aber schnell wieder in die Luft.

Gleich das neue Spielzeug zerstört. Dich kann man nicht alleine lassen. 🙄 Die Erkennung von Hindernissen funktioniert hauptsächlich auf Sicht über die Kamera und somit nicht in der Dunkelheit. Ich kenne die Daten Deiner Drohne nicht genau, aber vielleicht helfen ein paar kleine IR LEDs bei der Hindernisse Erkennung.
Die Flugbahn könntest Du auch bei Tageslicht programmieren und dann nachts die gespeicherte Route abfliegen.
Ja, das mit den Vorprogrammierten Routen teste ich gerade. Funktionierte bei mir allerdings nicht einwandfrei.
Die Frontsensorik soll bei der Drohne auch bei Dunkelheit funktionieren. Die Sensorik hinten scheinbar nicht.
Ich habe das jetzt so eingestellt, dass die Drohne bei Kollisionsgefahr stoppt und nicht mehr versucht auszuweichen.
