Clear Skies
We finally had a semi warm clear night. It was still about 25 degrees Fahrenheit, but no breeze so not bad at all. I've been waiting for a nice clear night since first reading about Comet Atlas.
I did not get to see it last night, but I was able to get a few shots of the night sky. First up is the Big Dipper, this is the current area to look for Comet Atlas.

Venus and the Moon Hunt
I have yet to be able to figure out how to get a nice picture of the moon. It was such a small crescent, low on the Horizon, and Venus was very bright. Any hints would be appreciated, but I will keep trying.

On the first image, it is as is, off the camera no editing other than resizing.
This one I slid the White Balance slider all the way to the right to 10,000, warmer. I like how it darkened the sky and added a little ethereal color to the Moon and Venus
Comet Atlas is expected to get brighter in April and May, I really hope I am able to capture a nice shot of it. Tonight we are back to being under the cloud cover. The images were all shot of course with the help of a tripod. I actually had to learn that afternoon how to work the self timer on my Camera and get the setting right, my little hand held clicker gave up the ghost, it just did not want to click any more. i know it was the clicker because I tried it in my wife's camera and same results. I very much prefer the hand held clicker, and will ahve to get another and a spare soon.
For those interested https://www.spaceweather.com/ is a pretty nice place for ordinary folks to see what is going on up there above the sky, also they have a photo gallery:(https://spaceweathergallery.com/). Over-all like I said a pretty nice web site.
I can still identify Orion from when I was an astronomy geek. Most of my other knowledge has sadly left my brain.
Nice shots!
