I present to you today photos taken this summer during our vacation in the center of France,
in this beautiful French countryside where we have gathered calm, serenity and peacefulness,
a parenthesis out of our hectic lives which confirmed my desire to go green in the countryside in the near future ...
these wonderful buildings have a power of attraction on me that do not have all these modern architectures of villas which are built nowadays ...
I much prefer the authenticity of the stone, the charm of the wood that accompanies it and all the noble materials used by the builders of yesteryear ...
Historically in France, the central region is a land of masons and builders,
lands were not very fertile and properties fragmented, which then force the men of these territories to emigrate temporarily for several months, from spring to winter, to join construction sites throughout the national territory
the masons of Creuse have an art and a know-how which made them the builders of great French monuments such as Versailles, Le Louvre, Les Tuileries, the castle of Vaux-le-Vicomte, the Marais district ...
It is a treat to walk in these villages and hamlets whose beauty is matched only by the silence and tranquility that peacefully reigns in this Limousin territory.
The renovations that are made of these houses respect the aesthetics and the quality of the constructions of yesteryear,
inside these old farms there is still what is called a cantou, which is a monumental fireplace that was the center of peasant life, to light up the house, heat it, cook food ... each Creuse farm has its inglenook fireplace ^ _ ^
I hope you have enjoyed the spendid stones architecture of these contryside buildings ,

Thank you soo much @LivingUKTaiwan and @pinmapple ! 😃
I am in total agreement, how I would love to live in a quiet home with that old world feel, with small garden and stream flowing near.
Perfect for me @barbara-orenya

So I hope I made you dream, like I do before these pictures and my memories of the soft holidays in the countryscape....even despite the not sunny weather we had at this moment 😁
Thank you very much @joanstewart and have a
Oh you did have me dreaming, I have watched some shows on buying homes inland over in France and been fascinated by how much I have learned just seeing these grand old places.
Thanks for special caturday wishes, love that smile!
I see on one of your photo a sign on which is written "Rue de la tranquillité", it is particularly well named!
Very beautiful photos of a not very well-known county of France, even by the French people.
You are right about the fact that it is not well-known part of France by french themselves...LoL...but I think it begins to change, even more since the confinement, when people have discovered that countryside is much better to be living in than big cities, and for the remote work it's much more enjoyable to be close to nature,
why people are discovering there are some wild and nature places that suddenly are of some interest...😉
I guess you are french and I answered in english only for others to be able to read it but,
Wow, such amazing houses, right out of a fairy tale.
Great photography!
yes, the not shimmering-glittering part of the fairytale, the one when the princesses are raised by peasants until they come of age, or when they live with 7 dwarfs amongst the birds and squirrels ... My favourite part 😁
thanks a lot @sofs-su 😘
Not the princesses, just the houses so picturesque and beautiful. LOL
Shimmering under the sun.

The old stone homes in France have so much character. I love the shutters on the windows as well and the old vine wisteria.
Great photos.
i love it when the shutters are colored, for me it adds a "holiday" feel to the houses 😊
Thanks much for your appreciation @leaky20 ^_^
Splendid indeed! You make me wish I was there. The novel that I am reading right now takes place in the Perigord, so was already wishing I was in France, and your gorgeous photos will cause me to have even more strong desires to return! 🇫🇷
Oh the Perigord...the region of the truffle ! 😉
Looking very lovely and charming...
this is really a wonderful place we have discovered there...it's only about 5 hours from Annecy, and it is the more peaceful place I never went in...😊
Sin duda la sensación de conocer lugares llenos de historia y vida en cada detalle te dan ganas de expresar un sonrisa con la belleza que se expresa.
muchas gracias por esas lindas palabras @moica 😃
You know anyone who have some of these pictures would love to go there because that place looks so beautiful and it reminded me of a movie I saw back a long time ago
I can say that how peaceful and how beautiful that must have been I mean just waking up to use like that where everything is green I don't know how someone can feel upset or bad I mean that is a true heaven very beautiful
for a vacation I think there is nothing perfect and that I can live there forever
I would also live there forever, for the quietness and the total absence of noise...! 😉

Most beautiful photography! Thank you very much for sharing! Keep up the good work as well! :) <3
Most of them are two centuries old, but of course they were restored, if not, they would have been just ruins and one can also easily find some houses in ruins when families could not afford to renovate and failed to sell ...
