Art is not only in galleries or in nature, which is the best artist of all. Art and beauty can be manifested in different ways and these days I have seen it once again. Beauty is everywhere if we know how to see it.
These days I have been walking the streets of the city, on several occasions when the drizzle allowed me to go out and enjoy the atmosphere. I have enjoyed very varied and marvellous spectacles, some of them have moved me to tears, I couldn't help it, I was simply in tears. Nature and beauty move me, they surprise me, I think because I allow myself to connect so much with these things.
On my walks, which as I say have been several, I have also wanted to practice photography in night mode and I have been fascinated with the result. Last year I was taking pictures of my night walks and the lights were flashing and ruining my photos. And this year I've been doing more research, I love the result I've achieved.
The lights appear as my eyes see them, like flashing reflections everywhere. Of course I'll keep practising and I'm excited to go out in the evenings on my walks and enjoy photography in this way. When the holidays are over the city will be quieter for a while and the lonely streets are ideal for some good captures. Here the biggest or one of the biggest holidays is the Three Kings, so until the 6th of January the nightlife is very fast-paced and impressive.
The trees were decorated with lights, not only the ones on the Alameda avenue but all the ones in a small square.
But as you know I have a passion for lampposts, I couldn't help taking a picture of them.
And the flowers in the flowerbeds shone with so many lights that the city looked like daytime.
The main streets were a real spectacle on my walk and even the decorations they had put up on the pavement made everyone come to take a picture, especially the children. They are especially set up for that.
The carts selling chestnuts are always full of people, there are several on the main avenue, a classic all over the country I think.
In some small squares, the decorations on the balconies are already traditional.
And the big hotels, like this one, where many people stay when the film festival is on, dress up for these dates. I always love to see it like this.
I could not stop taking pictures of the cathedral of Malaga, it is beautiful both day and night and at this time of the year even more so, the surrounding lights make it look very different and with its greatest splendour. Even at the entrance there was a big nativity scene that people admired as they passed by.
But one day I found a special corner, I was just passing through and I promised myself I would return on another walk.
It is about some very narrow internal streets whose main protagonist is a hotel. This hotel was in charge of this marvellous decoration. Many people know that I am a fan of butterflies and this place seemed to me the most charming and romantic place in the whole city.
Everyone who passed by was taking pictures, whole families, children, old people, everyone. I had to wait for a long time in the place for people to move away and for me to take these pictures. I may have caught a lot of butterflies, but I couldn't help it, plus I was practicing night mode and I was fascinated.
I think it is a very magical mini walk, every cross corridor that was there was magical, I tried to take pictures of everything I saw and not to miss a chance that there were no people.
Butterflies and pink flowers, ideal for me, as if they knew my personal taste to make this beautiful decoration.
I spent a long time there walking around and looking at each space, simply wonderful and unique and I love to share it with all of you.
I hope that the magic of the beginning of the year will continue and that it will be a year of change as the butterflies that signify just that. Butterflies are change, pink is love. What a good relationship.

Good morning @avdesing. It's normal to always try to improve, but I have to say I've always loved your nighttime photos. Today's photos are great too; while exposures often have the problem of reflections on glass, nighttime photography presents other challenges. But as I said, I really enjoy your nighttime strolls and the results of your images.
Regarding the post, I always love seeing that incredible Cathedral. Although what I liked most was learning that you participated in the city's decorations this year. Those butterflies give you away; they can only be yours.

Thank you very much for those words, I always like to improve. The cathedral is always beautiful, be it night, day or even in fog I think. I haven't been there yet because they are restoring the façade due to problems with the roof, I hope they finish soon... it's been a year!

Modesty is fine; I think it's an excellent trait when it's sincere, as in your case. It drives us to improve and recognise the work of others. That doesn't take away from the fact that you take excellent photos and that the pink butterfly decoration is undoubtedly yours. 😃

Those are excellent archways with butterflies. Malaga is so full of art and design. I'm glad that the spirit of the season is expressed with all these creative light installations.
